NOTE: I get messages asking me why I post these types of recipes while I’m following a zero carb animal kingdom only food plan.  My answer is because I’m following ZC, but I bet you’re not! Just because I eat a certain way does not mean I have to limit myself to sharing only meat recipes. I’m not the carb police! lol

Be sure you check out what I eat everyday!!!

1-2-3 Chewy Peanut Butter Cookies Recipe (from 1950)

A 1950 Bisquick ad featured Betty Crocker’s “1-2-3 Cooky” recipe. This recipe was promoted as “thrifty” because it cost 5 1/2 cents to make a dozen cookies and a large box of Bisquick yielded 390 cookies.

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup peanut butter
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)
2 cups Original Bisquick mix (or store brand)
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons sugar

Darlene’s Tips: You could add chocolate chips to the mix if you want!

DIRECTIONS:

Step 1:  Heat oven to 375°F. In large bowl, mix peanut butter and milk until smooth. Stir in Bisquick mix and vanilla until blended.

Step 2:  Shape dough into 1 1/4-inch balls. Roll tops in sugar. On ungreased cookie sheet, place balls, sugar sides up, 2 inches apart. Flatten in crisscross pattern with fork dipped in additional sugar.

Step 3:  Bake 7 to 9 minutes or until centers are set and bottoms are light golden brown. Do not overbake. Remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack. Cool 15 minutes.
