Shaw’s will have a Mega Sale 8/2 through 8/8 where you will get $5.00 off when you buy 10 participating items. You can mix and match and there is no limit! All you have to do is be sure you buy in groups of 10 items.

I will be posting some shopping scenarios to help my newbies.  I highly suggest that you send your items through in groups of 10 and check the screen after each group to make sure you get the $5.00 off.  You should also know what your final total should be so you can tell if there were any boo boos.

You can see the other Mega Sale items in green boxes on the flyer. Remember that only 4 like coupons will double at Shaw’s per transaction, so plan accordingly.

I went in today to test out the new sales, and had a few issues. All of the Hamburger Helper items I got rang in as $1.69 with a $.20 promotional savings, which only brings them down to $1.49, not $1.29, even though the flyer shows $1.29. Then, because I got 2 sets of 10 items, I assumed that I would get the $5 mega savings on my receipt twice, but I didn’t. I went over to customer service, who was super nice, but they didn’t understand what I was saying, even with the flyer in my hand. They said the $1.49 would go down to $.79 after the $5 savings, which doesn’t make any sense at all. I did however, get my second $5 for the second set of 10 items. Apparently these still need to be in separate transactions, even though it doesn’t state that in the flyer. So the HH items are still in their computers as $1.49 instead of the $1.29 at this point. With your great blog, I was still able to save $43.75! Thanks!!

First, you did an awesome job! Second, those sales are famous for not giving the $5 off each time, even though there is no limit. I’m not sure what’s going on with your hamburger helper prices. Maybe where you are has a differnt sale? Did you check the flyer in your store? For all these sales, you have to get the correct items for it to work. Like if you got one hamburger helper that is not part of the sale, then you won’t get the lowest price. I almost bet that’s what might have happened! Not every variety is included. Usually the whole grain ones are not.
