darlenes-shopping-list

Hey everyone!  I’m bringing a new weekly feature to the blog. Each week I will be posting my shopping list so you can see what I’m stocking up on.  If you need the same items, you can stock up too!

Please note that I’ll be doing lots of stocking up just by shopping sales with no coupons.  So if you’d like to save money on groceries without clipping coupons, be sure you come back every week to see what I’m getting.  Better yet, just don’t leave! lol

At Shaw’s 9/4 – 9/10 (see flyer)

—–

Ground Turkey $2.99/lb (see here) – I picked up 3 pounds of ground turkey at this price on Monday and I’m thrilled to see that the sale will continue through next week.  If I can make room in the freezer, I’d like to pick up 10 pounds. It’s so good and $2.99/lb is a great price for ground meat that is 93% lean!

—–

Coke Products 12-Pack 5 for $11 (see here) – Every now and then we get a 5 for $10 sale on soda 12-packs, but I’m thinking the season is ending for that price. If you need to stock up, 5 for $11 is about as good as it gets, and it’s only $.20 more per 12-pack.  I need Moxie for my mother so I’ll be picking up 5 cases.

—–

Smithfield Boneless Half Pork Loin $2.69/lb (see here) – I might pick some of this up. Might. Not sure yet. Or I might get the tenderloin at $2.77/lb. I’ll decide when I go on Monday.

That’s it for me.  There are a few other things below you might want to add to your stockpile if you are low.

Other Stockpile Sales

Ground Beef $2.99/lb (see here) – Ground beef will also be on sale again next week (this week too). This is a good price, but it’s 80%. If you want leaner meat, you can opt for the ground turkey for the same price.

—–

Potatoes 5lb, Carrots 3lb, Onions 3lb $1.99 each (see here) – This is not really something you can stock up on big time, but at this price, you should add this to your shopping list. Remember that potatoes, carrots and onions will last a very long time in your refrigerator crisper.

—–

Skippy Peanut Butter $1.88 (see here) – This is a good price for peanut butter, even without a coupon. Feel free to grab at least a 6 month supply.

—–

Open Nature Peanut Butter $1.88 (see here) – If you want to skip the Skippy and try this brand, now is the time!  Same price as Skippy, so stock up!

—–

General Mills Cereal $1.88 (see here) – Even if you don’t use coupons, this is a good price for cereal. I have a list of the varieties that will be on sale here, along with some coupon deals for those who are interested. But if you rather shop without coupons, feel free to pick up 6 months worth at this price.

—–

Maxwell House Coffee 11.5 oz can $1.88 (see here) – If you have mastered the art of brewed coffee, this is a great price! I have forever given up even trying. It’s instant coffee for me (way too cheap for k-cups). But you can stock up for 6 months at this price.

—–

Kraft Mayo or Miracle Whip 30 oz $1.88 (see here) – What a great price! I know there are die hard Miracle Whip fans out there, so stock up for a year at this price! Want an even better deal? Get it for as low as $.78 with coupons!

—–

Swanson Broth or Stock 32 oz $1.88 (see here) – If you like homemade soups or stews during the winter months, you might want to make room in your stockpile for some of this broth! This is a very good price for 32 oz cartons. And you can open and use just what you need then store in the fridge! Want to save even more?  Check out this $1.13 deal you can get with a printable coupon!

—–

Xtra Laundry Detergent 75 oz (see here) – This is a very good price for the 75 oz jug!  There is also a $1.38 insert coupon deal that you can see here.  I totally meant to order coupons for this deal, then I totally forgot. If I had the coupons, I’d buy a year’s worth at this price.

—–

Malt-O-Meal Cereal $1.50 (see here) – Good price for this cereal. Quite sure Dollar Tree carries this brand but I think they are for the much smaller boxes. There are a few coupons out there for Malt-O-Meal but the only ones I can find are for the bigger boxes or bags.  If you are a cereal-eating family, you should always have at least a 3 month supply in your stockpile. And whenever you find a good price, stock more and rotate!

Remember to eat from your stockpile. That’s why you built it!
