Hear what I have to say about the new Shaw’s coupon policy and find out what the changes are.  Also, let me know how you decipher the bogo policy.  What do you think?  One coupon or two?  Let me know by commenting on youtube or facebook.

I totally stumbled my way through this video but I refused to start over or edit.  Just too tired. Sorry!

re: using 2 coupons on a b1g1 sale
Unfortunately when shaws got new registers a while back they were programmed to only accept 1 coupon on a b1g1 sale. Unless the program has been changed i do not believe that policy has been changed. Just test it on a self checkout register to confirm what the register itself will accept.

this policy has never made sense to me: on a b1g1 sale the manufacturer has sold 2 items to me. And the manufacturer will accept and compensate shaws for coupons on the 2 items. (I could understand if shaws chose not to double these manufacturer’s coupons but if these coupons were $1/1 coupons why should shaws even care.)

Unfortunately the new registers were not programmed to handle 2 coupons on b1g1. BUT As shaws has sales that require purchasing 10 items shaws could program b1g1 as 1/2 off with required purchase of 2.

Unfortunately, I think that the new BOGO policy wording means that you can use a $1/2 on a BOGO sale without having to fight with your cashier. I wish I thought otherwise. 🙁 My only thought as to why they won’t accept 2 coupons on a BOGO sale is that it’s because they double Q’s less than $1. My theory is that if they allowed a 2nd coupon and it didn’t double, they would make the same profit on the transaction, but if a second coupon doubled, that would cut directly into their profits.
