Just because you print it, clip it, file it does not mean you have to use it!

I use affiliate links in some of my posts. I may earn a commission if you use my links. Full disclosure.

I know it’s tempting to use those coupons that you work so hard at printing, clipping, sorting, filing.  It feels like such a waste to just throw them all away.  But, I never use a coupon just for the sake of using it. And the proof is in the photo! I just weeded out the old and nearly filled a 13 gallon trash can.  Had I gone through the rest of my inserts, I would have certainly fill it to the top.

So please don’t feel bad if you don’t use all your coupons!  That’s the way it is for all couponers… we collect coupons like crazy because we don’t know what deal will come along, then we must make the tough decisions and only use the coupons that score us a really great deal. I not willing to spend too much for something just to use up a coupon.

I know there are programs out there where we can send expired coupons to military families and I have looked into it. I’ve had the best of intentions from the beginning to send my expireds so someone else could use them (they can use coupons expired up to 6 months). However, the coupons have to be sorted and placed into individual bags then sorted again into groups of food and non food.  And frankly, I just don’t have the time. And the cost to send some 50 plus pounds of paper is just too much. So, in the recycle bin they go… sorry!
