DIY: Make Your Own Floor Cleaning Solution

I use affiliate links in some of my posts. I may earn a commission if you use my links. Full disclosure.

Right now my days consist of chasing after a super speedy crawling baby (man is she fast). I used to cringe at what types of dirt and grime could be on our floors (our floors are hardwood, laminate and tile). That’s when my husband and I started searching for the ultimate best cleaning solution we could find. We never imagined that it would actually be something we could make on our own…better yet, from ingredients we already had in the house (and you probably have them, too)!

Ingredients:
Rubbing Alcohol
White Vinegar
Water
Spray Bottle OR Spray Mop

Directions

  1. Mix half warm water and half vinegar in your spray bottle or container (we use a mop that actually squirts the solution out of it). Add some alcohol to the mixture, which will help the solution dry faster when it hits the surface. (If you hate the smell of vinegar like I do, don’t worry — the smell fades quickly or you can add some natural oils to it to make it smell better).
  2. Sweep your floors.
  3. Mop your floors.

No other cleaning solution has cleaned my floors as nicely as this basic solution has! All natural, very easy to make and inexpensive!

Print this coupon for $3.00 off the Rubbermaid Reveal Mop (includes two microfiber cleaning pads that you can wash and reuse — if you’re interested, I can teach you how to make your own pads, too). We use this type of mop and it makes mopping enjoyable because it’s so convenient and easy to use! I don’t mind doing housework when it’s easy!
