I love to crochet and was looking for a quick little project and I stumbled across this! Crocheted flowers to dress up flip flops! I don’t think I’ll be attaching flowers to flip flops, but I’d like to make a few flowers and let my mother attach them to whatever she wants. I have a feeling she would decorate her purse with these. She’s 89 so she’s allowed to do that kind of stuff.
Here is the pattern as seen on FaveCrafts! I love that site for tons of free crafts!
Do not worry about the kind of yarn you use. I just dig through my scrap pile! It’s always a fun surprise to see how it turns out!
Materials:
- Yarn: Lily Sugar’n Cream (70.9 g/2.5 oz)
Main Color (MC): (Yellow) 1 ball
Contrast A: (White) 1 ball
- Crochet Hook: Size 4 mm (U.S. G or 6) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.
- Pair of rubber flip-flops
- Glue
Size: Daisy Motif = 3 ins [7.5 cm] round.
Instructions:
Daisy Motif: Make 2 Daisy Motifs (one for each flip-flop).
With MC, ch 5. Join in rnd.
1st rnd: Ch 1. 10 sc in rnd. Join A with sl st to first sc.
2nd rnd: With A, ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. *Ch 7. Sl st in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in next ch. 1 hdc in next ch. 1 dc in each of next 3 ch. Miss next sc. 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. 5 petals.
3rd rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in missed sc in last rnd. *Ch 7. Sl st in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in next ch. 1 hdc in next ch. 1 dc in each of next 3 ch. 1 sc in next missed sc in last rnd. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. 5 petals. Note: 5 petals from 2nd rnd should alternate with 5 petals from 3rd rnd.
Fasten off.
Glue 1 Daisy to each flip-flop as shown in picture
