My Mother’s 2 Super Full Easter Baskets – Almost all for FREE

I use affiliate links in some of my posts. I may earn a commission if you use my links. Full disclosure.

To those of you who have been following my blog for at least a couple months will know that I was buliding an Easter Basket for my mother made up entirely of free samples that I got in the mail.  I also decided to make up a basket filled with candy, especially since she’s been craving it big time because she gave it up for lent.

The basket filled with snail mail freebies has SO MUCH stuff tucked inside that it’s impossible to name all the items.  It includes a full size package of Old El Paso Tortilla Stuffers, a Depend undergarment, toothpaste, lotion, cereal, a razor (for her chin… ’cause when you’re old that’s the only place hair grows), a recipe book, laundry soap, baby wipes, mouthwash, lots of coffee, snack bars, a little box of tissues, and even dog food and dog treats that she can keep handy for Scruffy!  Every item in this basket was FREE and came to my door!

The other basket is filled with candy, candy and more candy… I think she’ll have enough until the next big sale comes along (yes… we FREEZE candy!!!).  I got over 50 Mars singles for FREE (someone left a bunch of inserts on the Shaw’s coupon table with the $1/2 Mars coupon inside and I used them during the 2/$1 sale at CVS).  I also got 10 bags of M&M’s next to free using coupons and ExtraBucks, along with lots of free jelly beans (I think 7 bags), two boxes of Crunch ‘n Munch, 5 boxes of Peeps, lots of chocolate bunnies, caramel eggs, chocolate covered Peep singles and so much more!  The candy basket weighs almost 19 pounds and it’s entirely filled with candy.  There is nothing in the bottom to just make it look full.  I paid less than $5 for everything in that basket, most of that was tax.

Happy Easter!
