The other day when I ran into Shaw’s, Skylar asked for grapes. I got to talking to the produce manager then somehow we forgot the grapes. We had Hannaford on our list of 5 stores to hit, so I told her we’d pick them up there. They were on sale at Shaw’s and were something like $1.00 more per pound at Hannaford. Of course, I still got them ’cause the girl needed grapes!
That got me to thinking…
How about I do a weekly post that lists the best produce prices for the upcoming week at various stores like Shaw’s, Hannaford, Walmart, Market Basket, Whole Foods, etc. Then we can compare and make an educated decision as to where we might want to shop for produce that week. Since we rarely get coupons for produce, this might be a good way to keep our produce bill as low as possible!
If you would like to see a weekly produce post, please leave a comment below letting me know! If I find I can do it without it taking too much time, then maybe I can do a weekly meat post too! I’d at least like to give it a shot. What do you think?
UPDATE: I have lots of awesome comments with very helpful ideas. Once concern is that prices vary. Yup! They do. I will be pulling from prices in my area (southern maine) or for stores not in my area, I’ll pull from online flyers or other bloggers who do matchups. Also, I will only be pulling from advertised sale prices, not doing the prices of all the produce in each store. I’m good, but not that good! LOL Keep the comments coming as it helps!
