When I first started couponing, I asked Sanford Walmart which stores they price matched and I was told only local stores, meaning only stores in Sanford. They said they would consider a price match on other stores on an individual basis, and may price match stores like Staples since Sanford does not have a big office supply store. I was told NO to Market Basket because Sanford had enough grocery stores so we could only price match the local ones.
Just a little bit ago, I got an email from blog follower, Angela, and she told me that last week she was told we Sanford Walmart shoppers could price match Market Basket now! I was like…. WHAT???? And she was like… YES!!! And I was like…. WHAT?????? And she was like… YES!!! I was excited!
I just got off the phone with Sanford Walmart just to see what they would say because I wanted to see if I was just dreaming, and I was told… YES!!!! And I was like… WHAT???? And I was told… YES!!! And I was like… WOW!!!
This means my blogging career just got more complicated! I will now be helping Sanford shoppers to do price matching deals at Walmart so we can get those awesome low Market Basket prices! And we can still use coupons too!
With that said, I’m sure there will be many bumps in the road. And next time I’m in Walmart, I’m going to re-confirm this and let them know that we are heading their way!
Of course, Walmart does not double coupons, so many times our Sanford deals will be cheaper at Shaw’s. But, it will be an additional way we can save. And we’ll be able to price match things like meat and produce! Yes, Walmart price matches that stuff too!
Get familiar with the Walmart Ad Match Guarantee. Print it, read it, keep it with your coupons. And just so you know, you do not need the Market Basket ad with you when you do a price match. Strange, but true. They will just take your word. Or they may have the flyer right there at the register and will check it.
