Here’s a great snack recipe to use those Honey Nut Cheerios in:

Honey Nut Cheerios Snack Mix

3 cups Honey Nut Cheerios
1 cup unsalted peanuts
1/2 cup margarine or butter
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup light corn syrup
1/3 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon almond extract

1. Foil line a jelly roll pan or cookie sheet with sides.
2. Over medium heat combine peanuts, margarine, sugar, water and corn syrup.  STir constantly until mixture begins to boil.  Boil 12-15 minutes longer until peanuts begin to brown.
3. Remove from heat.
4. Carefully stir in the extracts.
5. Add cereal.  Gently stir to coat the cereal with the mixture.
6. Spread on cookie sheet or jelly roll pan.
7. When hardened and set, break into pieces.
8. Store in an air-tight container if it lasts that long.
