I just got back from picking up my cheap chicken and eggs at Sanford Shaw’s and I have two things I want to tell you. If you can make it to Shaw’s today, you might want to pay attention! It might be heading over there even if you were not planning on going out today.
ONE: Sanford Shaw’s is all out of chicken thighs. They have plenty of drumsticks, but no thighs. If you mosey on over there, you can get a rain check! That means you will be able to pick up chicken at $.88/lb later, at your leisure, when you have more room in the freezer! The $.88/lb sale ends today, so you have to get your rain check today. They gave me a rain check for 10 pounds at that price. This is what I call rain check shopping.
TWO: Sanford Shaw’s has a promotion on cases of Essential Everyday canned veggies. This is not something they will get in stock again (at least not expected to) and they only have 9 cases left and none out back. They have 3 corn, 1 cut green beans, and 5 French style green beans. These are in aisle 4 and they are on a metal stand, not on the shelf. There are 12 cans to a case and they are $6.99, so that works out to $.58 per can which is a very good price for canned veggies and no coupon needed! If you go for the chicken rain check, consider picking up a case or two.
If you are not in Sanford, you may want to call your Shaw’s and ask if they are also out of chicken thighs (warehouse might be out?) and if they are, head on over and get a rain check. Also ask if they have the cases of veggies.
