darlenes-shopping-list

Hey everyone! Each week I will be posting my shopping list so you can see what I’m stocking up on.  If you need the same items, you can stock up too!

Please note that I’ll be doing lots of stocking up just by shopping sales with no coupons.  So, if you’d like to save money on groceries without clipping coupons, be sure you come back every week to see what I’m getting.  Better yet, just don’t leave! lol

My List

Boneless Chicken Breasts or Thighs $1.77/lb (see here) – Great price for boneless chicken!  I hope to get maybe 10 pounds. It’s just sooooo convenient and a really good value since we are not paying for skin and bones! We do get this sale every few weeks, so pick up enough to last you a month or so. No need to fill your freezer as the sale will come around again (we hope!).

—–

Essential Everyday Frozen Vegetables $.79 wyb 10 (see here) – I better not forget to pick up my veggies on Monday!  Do NOT let me forget, okay?  It’s your job to watch over me! lol  Yes, you must buy 10 to get this price, but everyone needs lots of frozen veggies, right?  And you can mix and match with other stuff that is part of the sale. You don’t have to buy 10 of just veggies.  I would like to grab 20 bags!  I just need to make room in my freezer. My mother has a whoopie pie in there taking up room. I’ll force her to eat it. lol

—–

Essential Everyday Pasta $.79 wyb 10 (see here) – I just realized I need to add this to my list!  I’m not eating pasta, but my mother still is!  I hope to get 5 thin spaghetti and 5 elbows. Or maybe 10 of each. Not sure yet.

—–

That’s it for me.  There are a few other things below you might want to add to your stockpile if you are low.

—–

Other Stockpile Sales

—–

Frozen Turkey $.69/lb (see here) – I was totally planning on picking up a turkey, but someone pointed out to me that we need to spend $25 (not including the turkey) to get the sale price.  I don’t usually spend $25. So good! Less work for me! lol  But if you spend at least $25, do consider grabbing a turkey at this price.  If you are spending at least $50 and want 2 turkeys, be sure you split into two $25 transactions because it’s a limit of one. And guess what? There is no law saying we can only eat turkey during a holiday. You can cook one any time!

—–

New England Bagged Coffee $3.33 (3 day sale, see here) – I know many of you out there love this coffee. I’ve never tried it.  I’m an instant coffee kind of girl. Ain’t got no time for the other kind! I would not stock up big time at this price, but good to buy a few if this is your brand. I don’t see any coupons right now but you can always check here and here to see if any popped up.

—–

Eastern Apples $.59/lb (3 day sale, see here) – That’s a fantastic price for apples! Bake a pie!

—–

Ground Beef $2.88/lb (3 day sale, see here) – This is a very good price for ground beef!  Yes, it’s a bit on the fatty side, so I drain and rinse it after cooking. We seem to get this price every few weeks so no need to over stock.  I would love to grab some, but I’ve learned to accept the fact that I’ll never get out for the 3 day sales. lol

—–

Coke Product 2 Liters $.88 (3 day sale, see here) – If you are brand fussy and Coke is your brand, you will want to stock up at this price!  There is a limit of 6, so if you need more than that, bring a friend to help you shop!

—–

Polar 2 Liters $.79 wyb 10 (see here) – If you can live without coke buy want some cheap soda, pick up Polar instead!

—–

Kraft Mac & Cheese $.79 wyb 10 (see here) – At first I thought this might be a really good price, but I see that you can get a 6 pack of Great Value Mac & Cheese at Walmart for $.54 per box. However, I know many of you are brand fussy, so $.79 for Kraft is a very good price (looks like Kraft mac & cheese is $1.28 at Walmart).  But I’d only buy the box at $.79, not the cup. Cups are convenient but cost more per unit!

—–

Essential Everyday Pasta and Hunt’s Pasta Sauce $.79 wyb 10 (see here, they are side by side) – This is a very good price for pasta and also the 24 oz sauce!  You might want to stock up at this price.  In face, I’m putting pasta on my list above because my mother needs some and I’ve skipped the past few sales.  I need to score this time!  If you want cheaper sauce, you can do this coupon deal, but it has to be a price match  because the coupon has a Walmart logo and Shaw’s won’t take it.

—–

Shaw’s English Muffins or White Bread $.79 wyb 10 (see here) – That’s a really good price for English muffins, so toss some in your freezer! Good price for bread too. I also see the hot dog and hamburger rolls on that same page, so good price for those too. Here’s trick for freezing bread. Stick a straw in the bag and suck out all the air. Then tie and freeze. It really helps to keep it from drying out.

—–

Snack Pack Pudding $.79 wyb 10 (see here) – I’m big on suggesting that you make your own pudding and split into individual servings, but with the price of milk in Maine, might just be cheaper to buy it made! I still think making it yourself is cheaper, but these snack packs are very convenient and do not take up room in the fridge. Stock up at this price!

—–

Hunt’s Ketchup $.79 wyb 10 (see here) – That’s not a terrible price for 24 oz ketchup. I would not stock up big time, but you might want to add a few to your stockpile, just ’cause it looks good in a stockpile. lol

—–

Those are my picks! If you see something else that you feel is a good sale price, go ahead and stock up. Once your stockpile is built, you will have the luxury of shopping only for items that are free of very cheap later!

I will have the Shaw’s Coupon Roundup posted on Thursday evening! There are lots of great deals this week for couponers!  You can check the current Shaw’s coupon deals HERE!

Remember to eat from your stockpile. That’s why you built it!
