Easy Brownie Ornaments Recipe

NOTE: I get messages asking me why I post these types of recipes while I’m following a zero carb animal kingdom only food plan.  My answer is because I’m following ZC, but I bet you’re not! Just because I eat a certain way does not mean I have to limit myself to sharing only meat recipes. I’m not the carb police! lol

Be sure you check out what I eat everyday!!!

Easy Brownie Ornaments Recipe

1 box (18.3 oz) Betty Crocker fudge brownie mix
Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on brownie mix box
12 small candy canes
Betty Crocker Decorating Cookie Icing (assorted colors), if desired
Betty Crocker Decorating Sprinkles (assorted colors), if desired
M&M’s milk chocolate candies (assorted colors), if desired

*Darlene’s Tip: Any brownie will will work!  Or if you don’t want to bake, just use store bought cookies and let the kids decorate them.  Great activity for them during a Christmas gathering!  You could also use shoestring licorice for the hooks.

Step 1: Heat oven to 350°F. Line 13×9-inch pan with foil, letting foil hang 2 inches over sides of pan. Spray foil with cooking spray. Make brownie batter as directed on box. Spread in pan.

Step 2:  Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted 2 inches from side of pan comes out clean. Transfer to cooling rack to cool completely, about 1 hour. Freeze in pan 30 minutes.

Step 3:  Using foil to lift, remove brownies from pan, and peel foil away. Use 3-inch round cutter to cut out 8 brownie rounds. Use 1 3/4-inch round cutter to cut out smaller rounds from remaining brownie. Set aside leftover pieces for snacking.

Step 4:  Cut hook off each candy cane; unwrap, and use to create hooks on brownie circles. Reserve remaining pieces of candy canes for another use.

Step 5:  Decorate as desired using icing, sprinkles and candies. Let stand about 30 minutes or until icing is set. Store covered in airtight container at room temperature with waxed paper between layers.
