NOTE: I get messages asking me why I post these types of recipes while I’m following a zero carb animal kingdom only food plan.  My answer is because I’m following ZC, but I bet you’re not! Just because I eat a certain way does not mean I have to limit myself to sharing only meat recipes. I’m not the carb police! lol

Be sure you check out what I eat everyday!!!

Sweetheart Face Cookies Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

1 roll (16.5 oz) Pillsbury™ refrigerated sugar cookies
1 container (1 lb) vanilla creamy ready-to-spread frosting
Red food color, if desired
Assorted small candies or candy sprinkles

Darlene’s Tip: You can make this super simple by picking up some store bought round cookies (or heart shape if you can find them), spreading the frosting in a heart shape and letting the kids decorate!

DIRECTIONS:

Step 1:  Heat oven to 350°F. Remove half of dough from wrapper; refrigerate remaining dough until needed.

Step 2:  On lightly floured surface with rolling pin, roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness. With 2-inch heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut out dough hearts. On ungreased cookie sheets, place hearts 2 inches apart.

Step 3:  Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Cool 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheets to cooling racks. Cool completely, about 10 minutes.

Step 4:  In small bowl, mix frosting and food color until desired pink color. Spread frosting on cookies. Decorate with assorted candies to resemble faces.
