TGIF!

I can’t believe another Friday is here.  Time is just flying by!

Skylar is hosting a Mystery Giveaway on her channel to help her get to 1,000 subbies before she leaves Maine.  And she is getting very close to that goal!  Please subscribe to her channel and enter the giveaway for your chance to win a mystery prize!!!

Since it’s Friday, I really need to get an eBay listing up tonight for Fabric Friday!  I’d like to get it done earlier in the day, actually.  I will put it on the top of my priority list.  I purchased 96 yards of fabric yesterday and I need to decide what I’ll be using for this week. I want to split it up into 2 weeks worth or maybe even more. Thinking cap is on!  And then there is all the cutting. lol

Speaking of buying fabric, you can see me talk about that in yesterday’s Snippets video. You will also see me suffer immensely over popping balloons.  It was fun for Skylar but pure torture for me! lol  I also talked more about my plans for maybe having a toaster oven series and I’m getting such good feedback on that. Quite sure this series is a must do!

The only thing that sucks about a toaster oven series is I won’t be tasting the food I cook for that series. We’ll have to judge the success of the recipes by how they look.  Or I could upload only after my mother ate what I made and tell you what she thought, but that can be very tricky. She would not do it on camera (she hates cameras, because… vain) and if she knows I’m baking with a purpose other than to cater to her, she may decide she’s suddenly “allergic” to my treats and render them practically poisonous to her or she will just come out and say they are awful.  Narcissists don’t like any attention taken away from themselves and my relationship with the peanut gallery is a threat to her.  Instead of her being happy for me for having an online family, not taking part in food tasting or insisting my food sucks is a way for her to sabotage my efforts of a fun series for my channel.  And that’s life with a narcissist.

And since I’m on the topic of narcissism, here is another example of what I’m talking about.  Skylar has been baking.  On the first day she baked she offered my mother a muffin.  My mother took it.  Later I asked how the muffin was and she said it was very good, but she could not eat it (notice how she said it was very good but she could not eat it. It’s her way of stating that she’s above eating something that’s even very good. Good enough for others maybe, but not good enough for her).  Said she ate a bit of it then balled up the rest and threw it in the sink.  Wanted me to go look at it.   I did not look.  And we have not offered her any more of Skylar’s treats (I did not tell Skylar about the muffin in the sink).  The problem with Skylar’s treats is that it’s something she and I did together and that’s a threat to my mother’s narcissistic supply.  My attention was on Skylar.  I am not to have anyone else in my life.  No one.

It’s funny how I feel compelled to talk about narcissism more lately.  It’s totally because I’m even more aware of all the antics when Skylar is here. Skylar is my mother’s number one threat.  And there is very little contact between them even if in the same house.  The distance started as soon as Skylar was able to recognize that my mother was acting “scary,” maybe by age 4 or 5.  Before that age, they spent a lot of time together playing cards, my mother would fix her breakfast, they’d watch tv together.  Then Skylar started to become the target of a narcissist and that relationship ended.  I really don’t even want Skylar around my mother much.  I do, but I don’t, you know what I mean jelly bean?  I’m very picky as to when they have contact.  The mood has to be right.

Okay, enough about that!  I could go on and on… For more on my life with a narcissistic mother, you can check out my old channel Growing Up Crazy.

Today, fabric.  And maybe also some sewing.  I’d love to finish up the matching t-shirt dresses that I’m working on. And yes, I’m recording those, not as a tutorial, but mostly just to let you see what I’m doing.

And I think I’ll get started on the fabric now.  Just need to decide exactly what cuts I want for this listing.  Decisions, decisions!

Have a great Friday! Darlene xoxo
