1 can (11 oz) Pillsbury refrigerated original breadsticks

(see my tips below)

DIRECTIONS:

1:  In large pot, heat the evaporated milk, 4 1/2 cups hot water and the chicken to boiling over high heat.

2:  Separate the breadsticks and cut into 1-inch pieces with kitchen scissors. Drop them into the boiling mixture. Reduce heat and simmer 12 to 14 minutes, stirring frequently, until dumplings are cooked through.

3:  Boil the mixed vegetables and drain.

4:  Remove the chicken and dumplings from heat. Stir in vegetables and serve!

Darlene’s Tips:  Want it cheesy?  You can add 1 to 2 cups of your favorite shredded cheese along with the veggies. Simply cover and let stand for a few minutes to let the cheese melt. You can also serve before the cheese is fully melted. Top with more cheese if you want. You could also frozen turkey meatballs for this recipe. Just let them thaw before using.
