Cookies & Cream Brownies Recipe – Easy Brownie Hack

I use affiliate links in some of my posts. I may earn a commission if you use my links. Full disclosure.

Please remember that I don’t eat this stuff so I did not make this recipe. I’m just posting so you can try it!

INGREDIENTS:
1 box Brownie mix (plus ingredients to make the brownies)
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup frozen whipped topping, thawed
1/2 cup chopped chocolate sandwich cookies (about 4 cookies)

DIRECTIONS:

1:  Bake brownies as directed on box.  Cool completely, about 1 hour.

2:  Beat cream cheese and powdered sugar in medium bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth, scraping down side of bowl frequently.

3:  Beat whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture.

4:  Spread mixture evenly over brownie base then refrigerate about 3 hours or until well chilled.

5:  When ready to serve, top with chopped cookies and gently press down so cookies stick to topping. Cut as desired and serve. Store leftovers in the refrigerator (cookies will soften, but that’s okay!).

Darlene’s Tips:  You can line your brownie pan with foil so you can lift the entire slab so it’s easier to cut into squares.  You can use any crushed cookies or you can skip that part. Top with chocolate morsels instead! You could try adding about a teaspoon of baking cocoa to the cream cheese mixture for a chocolate topping. Add more if needed.
