When I posted the flyer that is good for this week, some of you noticed that the limits for the special 4 Day Sales now said “limit 4 each” and not just “limit 4” (or whatever the limit is). Then I got reports that when some of you went shopping, you were picking up 4 of each of the items in the group but you were not getting the sale price on all the items.
I asked Dan on Shaw’s facebook page what “each” means. Seems we were not supposed to get 4 of “each” this current week, but they were telling the stores to do manual overrides to go with the wording. Looks like for the coming week they will rely on store signs to alert shoppers that “each” does not mean “each” but instead means “total.”
Below is what Dan said about, and you can see the entire thread here.

Darlene,
When I bought the Hunts tomatoes last week, I did two separate transactions because I bought 12 and wanted to make sure the q’s all doubled and that I got the sale price. The first 8 in the first transaction rang up at the sale price of .68 but the last 4 in the second transaction came in at .88. When I went to customer service, she said they ARE attached to my card so I would only get the 4-day sale price on the first 8, regardless of the fact that they were in separate transactions.
They are not attached to your card. There are many reasons that the second transaction rang it at $.88. Did you have an additional $10 transaction above and beyond the price of the Hunt’s? Did your total dip below $10 after using all coupons?
I definitely didn’t have the $10! Ugh – so much to keep track of. Thanks, Darlene! I really appreciate your help as I strive to save money for my family!
is this per transaction? or total per card?
Per transaction. They do not track on the cards.
oh my goodness I am still so confused! So some of them state 4 of each and some state 6 of each. What if I wanted both the cereal and the powerade – how many am I allowed to get in one transaction?
also – any idea of what the varieties of cereal are included? (it states Post – select varieties)
You can get 4 total cereal and 6 total powerade, and sorry, no idea which cereals are included.
Thanks Darlene. That’s not a good a deal as they advertised.
