I have been making room in my freezer ever since I knew we were having this awesome frozen veggie sale at Shaw’s this week, and I’ve got to say I’m very happy that I went back into the store to do another transaction for 12 more bags because I was able to fit all 24 bags in my freezer!  You don’t know how happy I am to have all that broccoli and other stuff. Yummo!

You can see the Essential Everyday Frozen Veggie deal here

You can see the Chex Mix deal here

For the canned veggies, they are on sale for $.67 each and I used $1/2 Essential Everyday coupons making them only $.17 each.

I did 3 separate transactions and there is a mistake on each of my 3 receipts!  One one receipt I got charged for 9 cans of veggies instead of 8 plus one of my $1/2 didn’t scan. On the other two, he missed a bogo coupon on each slip. I knew the total was not right but since those bogo coupons are so confusing, I figured I’d just come home and study the receipts and I’ll get my refunds next time I’m there. Once I get my refund…

I paid $2.72 for 16 cans of veggies.

I paid $5.46 for 24 bags of frozen veggies

I made $.80 overage buying 10 bags of Chex Mix after all coupons doubled, plus I will get a total of $1.00 back for my 2 SavingStar accounts ($.50 each, mine and my husband’s).

Grand total is $6.38!

I went to the Dover, NH Shaw’s Friday afternoon and bought 12 bags of frozen veggies and 8 bags of Chex Mix, used B1G1 Q’s for all of it and they didn’t give me any hassle. They even rang it up right and paged someone to find more Chex Mix out back. Someone went in there first thing and shelf cleared. It’s not my favorite Shaw’s, but I work in Dover.

Last week when I used the bogo coupons it got a bit confusing and I didn’t get the full value on many of them (I had several items that should have given me the full $2 off). To avoid that happening again, yesterday I asked the cashier to scan 2 EE items and then do one of the bogo coupons. It went great, and I ended up with 12 bags of frozen veggies, 4 bags of egg noodles, and 2 boxes of beef broth for a little over $7.

I’m having trouble at the Dover NH shaws using the b1g1 coupon on everyday essentials. They will not take them on a b1g1 free deal. The supervisor said it’s their store policy because they are losing money. I was also told its on the agenda of the owner for next year to stop doubling coupons before they go out of business. Have you heard anything or have advise?

As for the bogo coupon being used on bogo items, it’s allowed. You might want to post on shaw’s facebook page to see what they say. Also, you can do your survey that’s at the bottom of the receipt and they will take notice of your feedback! Everyone should be able to use them on a bogo sale, not just select stores. As for them stopping doubling, no changes that I’m aware of. I’ve been hearing that rumor for over 2 years but so far so good!

The shaws stores near me have there registers set up so it only doubles to the exact amount if the item it won’t give me any overage. It scans in that way. Its new to me. Very disappointing considering how the overage gets you the best shopping trips!

I feel they should force the double since their policy says they double and they allow an overage toward other stuff in the cart and the policy does not say they double only up to shelf price, do you should get the full double. But, not much you can do about it. You can do your surveys and let them know you don’t like it. The info is on the bottom of every receipt.
