This topping can be used on cake, wedges of angel cake, fruit, and helatin. Makes about 2-1/2 cups. You can search for coupons for the ingredients in this recipe here.
INSTANT TOPPING
1 cup light cream
1 1/4 cups milk
1 package (4-serving size) Jell-O Instant pudding (any flavor)
Pour cream and milk into bowl. Add pudding mix. Slowly beat with rotary beater or at lowest speed of electric mixer (need one? see here!) until well blended-about 2 minutes. Let stand to set-about 5 minutes. Just before serving, stir topping until creamy.
Note: Topping my be stored in refrigerator in covered container. Just before serving, stir topping until creamy.
Variations:
Ginger topping: Substitute 1/2 ginger ale for 1/2 cup of the cream, using vanilla pudding and adding 1/2 tsp. ginger with the pudding mix.
Chocolate Peppermint Topping: Use Chocolate instant pudding and add 1/4 tsp. peppermint extract with the milk.
Butterscotch Brandy Topping: Substitute 1/4 cup apricot brandy for 1/4 cup of the milk and use butterscotch instant pudding.
Coffee Topping: Use Butterscotch Instant Pudding and add 2 tsp. instant coffee with the pudding mix.
