I am going to take a giant leap here and I’m going to show you how to do this Utz deal by using TWO (yes, I said two) coupons on this BOGO sale.

Why two coupons, you ask?  Because Shaw’s took the line out of the policy that said “Coupon may not be applied to a “free” item.” To me, if they don’t want us to use a coupon on a “free” items, they would have left that line in the policy. (See the new policy here and the older policy below it, print both and take them with you so you can show them the policy changed)

Also, when I asked Dan on Shaw’s facebook page to explain the new policy for BOGO sales, he could not give us a timely answer.  Instead, we need to possibly wait until Monday before we hear back.  I think it’s unacceptable that we should have to wait that long for an answer to a coupon policy question, so I’m going to assume their new policy means we can use multiple coupons on a BOGO sale (it says “Coupons may be used on a BOGO Free item as long as all purchase requirements are met.“)

So there you have it!  It certainly can’t hurt to point out the new policy and give it a shot! If Shaw’s does not like me posting the deal this way, they should have had an answer for me.  For all of us!

Please, if you mention my name to your cashier, please, please, please tell them that this is just my interpretation of the new policy and that I’m expecting an answer from corporate later. Please don’t throw me under the bus. And if you do throw me under the bus, make sure the employee does not know your name, ’cause sometimes it gets back to me 😉

Good luck!  Remember, even if the new policy ends up meaning we can use 2 coupons on a bogo, it will probably be a long time before everyone is on track with that. Expect tons of bumps in the road.

If you interpret the new policy to mean that we can’t use 2 coupons on a bogo, then by all means don’t do it.  I’m not trying to encourage you to do something against policy. You are free to wait until we get an official reply… some day.
