Cherry-Cola Dump Cake Recipe – Just 3 Store Bought Ingredients

INGREDIENTS:

1 jar (16 oz) maraschino cherries with juice (see my tips below)
1 box Betty Crocker Super Moist devil’s food cake mix
1 cup cola-flavored carbonated beverage

DIRECTIONS:

1:  Heat oven to 350°F. Into ungreased 13×9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish, “dump” cherries (remove stems) along with the cherry juice.

2:  In medium bowl, mix cake mix and carbonated beverage. “Dump” mixture over cherries.

3:  Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool about 15 minutes before cutting and serving cake.

Darlene’s Tips:  You can use 1 cup of cherry pie filling instead of the maraschino cherries. Save any leftover pie filling as a topping along with ice cream or whipped topping. Experiment with other flavors of cake mix, pie filling (or canned fruit) and soda.
