Christmas Sweater Cookies Recipe – Fun Sugar Cookie Dough Hack

Please remember that I don’t eat this stuff so I did not test this recipe. I’m just posting so you can try it!

INGREDIENTS:

1 roll (16.5 oz) Pillsbury refrigerated sugar cookies
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
Assorted cookie icings, candies, sprinkles, decorating sugars, etc.
Sweater Shaped Cookie Cutter

DIRECTIONS:

1:  Heat oven to 350°F. Crumble cookie dough in a large bowl and add flour.  Knead until well blended.

2:  Roll dough 1/4 inch thick on a floured surface.  Cut shapes with floured sweater-shaped cookie cutter. Place cutouts at least 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Reroll remaining dough and cut additional sweaters.

3:  Bake 9 to 12 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 5 minutes then remove from cookie sheets to cooling rack. Cool completely.

4:  Decorate cookies as desired using the image as a guide. Let stand at least 30 minutes until set or refrigerate to set quickly.

Darlene’s Tips: This is a fun food craft for the kids!  You could also cut gingerbread boys/girls and the kids could decorate the cookie with a complete Christmas outfit.
