Did you know that your
dog or cat's hair can help clean up oil spills? Yes, it can!
There is an organization
called
Matter
Of Trust
that collects dog hair,
cat fur, horse hair, wool clippings and human hair to make hair mats and
hair booms to absorb and contain oil spills and to use in the cages of
oiled birds and other animals.
All you have to do is collect
the hair and send it to:

The pet hair does not need
to be shampooed. They just ask that it's not filthy. And it
does not have to be shaved off the animal. You can collect hair from
the brush and save it up until you have enough to send out. And the
hair can be any length. This is great for people who would like to
donate their hair for a good cause but can't grow it long enough to donate
to the cancer wigs for kids organizations (which usually require 10 inches
of hair). It's also a great way for pet groomers and hair salons
to dispose of all their hair clippings.
Donate pet hair to help clean
up oil spills! You can see the Matter Of Trust web site below.
