Obsessive Thoughts from a Distraught Deep Thinker

I use affiliate links in some of my posts. I may earn a commission if you use my links. Full disclosure.

If someone does not ask for advice, do not give advice. They didn’t ask for it.

If someone asks for advice, do not give advice.  They have already made up their mind and they just want to test you to see if you agree or not.

If someone says “I don’t know what to do,” that is a statement, not a question. They did not ask for advice. Do not give advice.

If you push through and give advice because you are sure  you have the best advice, guess what?  You don’t.

Bottom line is don’t give advice.

P.S.  I don’t ask for advice.  I don’t want advice.  I like to think things through and come up with my own solutions.  If it works, I take credit. If it doesn’t work, I can’t blame you for giving me lousy advice.

Tex-Mex Ranch Roasted Potatoes Recipe – Just 4 Ingredients

I use affiliate links in some of my posts. I may earn a commission if you use my links. Full disclosure.

Please remember that I don’t eat this stuff so I did not make this recipe. I’m just posting so you can try it!

INGREDIENTS:
2 pounds
2 tablespoons
1/2 cup
1/2 cup
optional: (green onions) for garnish
(see tips below)

Follow Me on TikTok!

DIRECTIONS:

1:  Preheat oven to 350°F.  Cube potatoes into 1/2 inch cubes.

2:  Mix the ranch dression, taco seasoning and half of the cheddar cheese in a large bowl.

3:  Add potatoes to the bowl and stir well to coat them with the sauce.

4:  Add potatoes to a large baking dish (spray with non-stick cooking spray). Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.

5:  Remove foil and stir potatoes well. Return to the oven, uncovered, for another 20 minutes or until potatoes are crispy.

6:  Remove potatoes and sprinkle with other half of cheddar cheese. The heat from the potatoes should melt the cheese. Garnish with chopped scallions if desired and serve.

Search for stuff you need on Amazon, on  and at !

Darlene’s Tips:  You can add crispy bacon to this dish too.  Just add it when you stir the potatoes for the final 20 minutes of baking.  If you want crispier potatoes, you can bake longer.

3-Ingredient Sugar Cookies Made From Scratch

I use affiliate links in some of my posts. I may earn a commission if you use my links. Full disclosure.

Please remember that I don’t eat this stuff so I did not make this recipe. I’m just posting so you can try it!

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup butter, softened (not margarine)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
(see tips below)

Follow Me on TikTok!

DIRECTIONS:

1:  Beat softened butter and granulated sugar in large bowl with spoon until well mixed. Stir in flour until moistened, using hands to mix if needed (dough will be crumbly). Knead 5 to 10 times or until dough is smooth.

2:  Divide dough in half.  Shape each half into a log about 5 inches long by 2 inches in diameter.  Wrap dough logs tightly with plastic wrap. Refrigerate about 1 hour 30 minutes or until firm.

3:  Heat oven to 350°F. Unwrap 1 of the dough logs and cut into 1/2-inch slices. Place slices 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet, preshaping if necessary.

4:  Bake 12 to 14 minutes or until edges are set. Cool 2 minutes then remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack. Unwrap remaining dough log and repeat.

Search for stuff you need on Amazon, on  and at !

Darlene’s Tips:  You can decorate these as desired.  You can also roll the logs in sprinkles then wrap and chill. This will give you colorful edges of the cookies. Add a teaspoon of your favorite extract to the mix if you want.  You can also freeze the cookie logs to use later. Remove from freezer and let thaw just enough so that you can cut. Cutting while partially frozen is easier and won’t squish the shape of the cookies.
