Sneak Peek of the New Fabrics I Just Ordered

My fabric wholesaler sent me some pics of NEW PRINTS that he just got in (please see all images below).

I think I will love some of these prints! I even see cupcakes!  I never know what prints I will get, but I told him those cupcakes looked good. lol

Most of the prints are too conservative for me, but usually very popular with others.  I have learned that I have odd taste in fabric and can’t buy just what I like. lol

What I’m most excited about is that I ordered a bolt of unbleached muslin that I love!  I had my supplier send me some samples and my favorite was a lightweight unbleached muslin that has seed specks.  Holy shit, I can’t wait to do lots of projects with that stuff!

I plan on having that muslin regularly available because I think others will love it too.  I will also consider getting some of the bleached muslin if the unbleached sells well because I know many like the white muslin better.  I’m all about not-so-white.

When the fabric comes in, I will have a fabric unboxing.  And the next quilt I make after that will be a homespun and muslin quilt. At least that’s the plan. And I already have it designed in my head. No paper and ridiculous math needed for this quilt! And I think it will be a rag quilt because I have not done that for a long time!

Remember, if you want to get in on my Fabric Frenzies and Flash Sales so you can shop with much more variety and at reduced prices, you must become a Patron ($5/mo) or Youtube member ($4.99/mo).  I suggest Patreon since they have a better way to navigate the site.

My Top 10 Most Viewed Videos Last Week (11/11/19 – 11/17/19)

I use affiliate links in some of my posts. I may earn a commission if you use my links. Full disclosure.

Below is a list of my Top 10 most viewed videos for the week of 11/11 to 11/17/19.  If you have not seen them all, now is a great time to binge watch!

I see that my old Crumb Quilt Adventure is suddenly in the Top 10 for most views!  That video is over 2 years old but is still kicking! That whole Crumb Quilt Adventure did very well for me.

I lost many subscribers during that series because they didn’t want me to sew, but it was kind to my savings account.  And my goal is building a comfortable retirement, not keeping quilt-hating subbies happy.

I’m going through the same thing now with my current shift to more quilts, losing my old audience, gaining a new audience. It’s always a roller coaster ride. Thank goodness I love roller coasters!

Christmas Snack Mix Recipe

I use affiliate links in some of my posts. I may earn a commission if you use my links. Full disclosure.

Please remember that I don’t eat this stuff so I did not test this recipe. I’m just posting so you can try it!

INGREDIENTS:
check for ingredient coupons here
12 cups Rice Chex cereal (or store brand)
1 bag (12 oz) white chocolate chips
1/4 cup shredded coconut
1/3 cup dried cherries
1/3 cup pecans, coarsely crushed
1/3 cup green and red candy-coated chocolate pieces
(see my tips below)

See my Darlene’s Concoctions videos!

DIRECTIONS:

1: Place cereal in a large bowl.

2: Place white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and zap on high for 20 second intervals, stirring between each, until the chocolate is melted and smooth. Pour over cereal.

3: Add coconut, cherries, pecans, and candy pieces. Toss until well coated.

4: Pour cereal onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Allow to sit in a cool, dry location until it firms up. Break into pieces.

Darlene’s Tips: You can use a mix of rice, wheat and corn cereal if you prefer. You can also add other shapes of cereal, like Os or balls. Use any nuts you like or skip the nuts. You might try flavoring the melted white morsels with pepermint extract for a more Christmas flavor. Add candy sprinkles to the mix too or crushed candy canes!

Simple Slow Cooker Stuffing Recipe

I use affiliate links in some of my posts. I may earn a commission if you use my links. Full disclosure.

Please remember that I don’t eat this stuff so I did not test this recipe. I’m just posting so you can try it!

INGREDIENTS:
check for ingredient coupons here
1/4 cup butter (not margarine)
1 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped onion
8 cups seasoned bread stuffing cubes
1½ cups chicken broth
(see my tips below)

See my Darlene’s Concoctions videos!

DIRECTIONS:

1:  Lightly spray bottom and side of a 3½ to 4 quart slow cooker with cooking spray.

2:  Melt butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add celery and onion and cook 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until crisp-tender.

3:  Place bread cubes, celery mixture and broth in slow cooker and toss to combine. Cover and cook on Low heat setting 3 to 3 1/2 hours. Stir before serving.

Darlene’s Tips: If you want a more moist stuffing, add about 1/4 cup more broth after it’s done cooking and stir. You can add up to 1 cup of any additional ingredients you like! Try adding some cooked ground turkey, cooked rice, corn, silvered almonds, raisins, cranberries, whatever!

This is How My Quilts Start Out

I use affiliate links in some of my posts. I may earn a commission if you use my links. Full disclosure.

This is 3 days worth of some of the most ridiculous math you will ever see! It looks like something the Professor from Gilligan’s Island would come up with. lol

There is a simple-but-looks-complicated quilt in there somewhere using one of my packs of 50 Scrappy 5″ Precuts. I’m determined to start this today!

Please don’t try to create the quilt using these images. It might be confusing. Bwhahahaha!!!

New Perk for Patrons and Youtube Members!!!

I use affiliate links in some of my posts. I may earn a commission if you use my links. Full disclosure.

UPDATE: I have to reel this in and make changes to what I am offering because I have too many out there who want advertising for stuff I know my audience would not be interested in.  All changes are in bold!

I am offering something NEW to my $5/mo Patrons and Youtube Members!  If you have an ebay or etsy store, you will love this perk!

I will be promoting my patrons and youtube members on my blog and on my social media. Not spammy promotions, but a promotion here and there each month to help you get more viewers for your ebay or etsy listings.

Here are some things I can promote for you:

  • Your ebay listings or store
  • Your etsy shop
  • Your youtube channel (not at this time)
  • Your podcast (not at this time)
  • Your ebooks (not at this time)
  • Your blog (not at this time)
  • Your facebook groups (a definite no)

CHANGES:  I am only interested in those with an ebay or etsy business at this time.  It must be an established business that you have built over a period of time. You must have good feedback. I’m open to many different products, but currently I’m all about the crafty stuff, so that content is a plus. However, I will glady check out any ebay or etsy store because you might still be a good fit!  Oh, I will NOT promote weight loss products or supplements or powders that promise miracle cures of any kind.  I just won’t.

Is your business missing from the list? Let me know what you have to offer and I bet I can promote it (ebay or etsy only at this time).

Here are the rules. You need to be a super cool person. Okay, I’m sure you are that.

You also need to have decent stuff for me to promote (on your ebay or etsy store) and it needs to be a good fit for my audience. My followers across all my platforms are mostly women over 35 years of age.

With that said, women shop for many people in their lives, so anything you sell might be of interest to them, as would a wide variety of podcasts, ebooks or blog topics (not promoting podcasts, ebook or blogs at this time).

As for facebook groups, I’m going to be fussy with that. Super fussy.  Super duper fussy. I will not promote groups that I personally would not want to belong to. That mainly means groups that allow drama.  I would need to be added to the group so I could check it out. My gut told me this was a bad idea, and it was. lol  I will not be promoting facebook groups. I know there are awesome groups out there, but I don’t have time to check them all out.

Are you ready for some promotion?

If you are one of my patrons or members and you have an ebay or etsy store you’d like me to promote, please leave a comment for me inside patreon or on the youtube community board.  I will check out what you have and will get back to you.

Please know I will not be bombarding my followers with a bunch of promotional posts, but I can at least offer you some form of promotion at least once per month or more, all depends on how many I have on board for this.

If you are not one of my patrons or members but you’d like some very inexpensive promotional advertising for your ebay or etsy store, please become one of my patrons or youtube members at the $5 level and give me the link to your shop!. If I see anything I think my audience might like, I will promote it. I’m being fussy.

I can’t promise you any miracles, but I can put eyeballs on your stuff.  My blog posts go out to over 3,000 subscribed readers daily and I have close to 20K fans or followers across my many facebook pages and my peanut gallery group.  I can also post to my youtube community board where over 85K subscribers and the public are able to see your stuff.

Phew!  LOL  I am highly encouraged by the interest, but I quickly learned that I need to make these changes because I really only want stuff that is a good fit for my audience.  Narrowing it down to ebay and etsy will make it easy for me to get a feel for what it is that you are offering. Thank you!

On a personal note…

A big thank you to Leah! She is one of my patrons whose amazing creations inspired to start this promo deal for my patrons and members! I want you all to shine!

Please check out Leah’s stuff!
UPDATE:  Leah has set the standard high!  You do not have to have as much stuff to offer as she does, but you need to have an established business and must offer items on a regular basis. I’m not interested in promoting an ebay auction every now and then when you feel like listing something. I’m looking for a community of successful sellers.
