It’s Tuesday! And it’s Skylar’s 10th Birthday!
Derrick got back from Austria just in time. They left Austria early yesterday morning and he got back to Memphis late last night. Skylar has school today (they start early) but he will be there to celebrate with family and friends after school. Just a small pool party with good food. Skylar’s big celebration will be on the 25th at a water park.
Skylar’s mom, Janet, just sent me a picture of Skylar’s birthday cake. Skylar made it all by herself last night. She’s getting very good at making cakes from scratch! It’s red velvet with cream cheese frosting and chocolate chips. Ten candles, of course!
I wish I could be there, but I’m forever grateful that I get her for a few weeks every summer. And I hope to get out there to see here this fall.
Today, I must hurry up and finish the quilt top that I started recording yesterday. My mother’s aide comes today and I need to wrap up that video before she gets here as I really can’t record while she’s here. Expect a video tonight!

When shopping on ebay, always read the descriptions. Some items ship from overseas and can take a few weeks to arrive. Usually the description will state how long shipping might take. Also, for clothing, overseas sizes usually run on the small size so it’s good to order larger by a size or two. Always check the shipping charges. Slow-Cooker Creamy Ranch Pork Chops Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

4 bone-in pork loin chops (2 lb)
1 package (1 oz) ranch dressing and seasoning mix
1 can (18 oz) Progresso Vegetable Classics creamy mushroom soup
2 tablespoons cornstarch

DIRECTIONS:
1: Spray 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Sprinkle both sides of pork chops with ranch dressing mix. Place pork chops in slow cooker. Pour soup over pork chops.
2: Cover; cook on Low heat setting 5 to 6 hours or until fork-tender. Remove pork chops from slow cooker, and place on plate; cover to keep warm.
3: In small bowl, stir cornstarch and 2 tablespoons water until well blended; stir into mushroom sauce in slow cooker. Cook on Low heat setting 3 to 5 minutes or until thickened. Serve over pork chops.

It’s Monday!
Those of you who know me know Mondays are my favorite day. It’s the start of a whole new work week. Do love!
I’m inspired to sew today! Not just because it’s Monday and I’m filled with desire to work, but also because I have a shitload of other stuff that needs to be taken care of. Sewing is a very good way to procrastinate and not feel as guilty for getting nothing else done.
The plan for today… a quick and easy quilt top using my very own lazy and tacky methods. I was once accused of being lazy and tacky in my tutorials and I loved that… ’cause I am, and I want you to be too. My goal is for you to make quilts that will be used. No level of perfection needed for that. None! You can expect a quilt top video soon, hopefully tonight. If not, then tomorrow.
Derrick is on his way home from Austria today. He lands in Nashville tonight then will jump in his car for the 4+ hour drive to Memphis. He will be home just in time for Skylar’s 10th birthday tomorrow! It’s a school day for her (they start early in the south) but they are having a small party for her after school. Then her big celebration is a water park on the 25th.
I must get busy! My sewing machine is calling me!
