Birthday Cake Cookies Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

1 box Betty Crocker Super Moist yellow cake mix
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 tablespoon milk
1 egg
1 can Betty Crocker Rich & Creamy vanilla frosting
candy sprinkles of your choice

DIRECTIONS:
1: Heat oven to 350°F. In large bowl, stir cake mix, about 1/4 cup of candy sprinkles, butter, milk and egg until soft batter forms. Scoop 20 tablespoonfuls of batter onto ungreased large cookie sheet.
2: Bake 8 to 10 minutes or just until cookies are set. Remove from cookie sheet; cool completely.
3: Spread frosting on bottom of 1 cookie; top with second cookie, bottom side down.
4: Roll edges of frosting in candy sprinkles. If desired, top each with a birthday candle.
Darlene’s Tips: You could use any for this recipe. Or just skip the birthday look and use this recipe to make any flavor cake mix cookies! I need to try this for my mother!

It’s Monday!
It’s my favorite day of the week. I get to print out my new schedule and start a fresh work week.
I’m starting this week with a new plan. I have decided that the main reason I get into recording slumps for my Sounds and Whispers ASMR channel is because I am not set up to record whenever I want. I need for it to be quiet, and although my mother is more than happy to turn off the TV any time I ask her too (it gives her time to either nap or say the rosary), I’m just not relaxed. I feel rushed.
I also prefer for it to be dark when I record for ASMR. Dark and quiet. Recording at night after my mother goes to bed is ideal, but I find I am too exhausted to record that late. I totally need a studio to record in so I can record during the day whenever the mood strikes.
I have thought about recording in a bedroom upstairs. But it did not seem appealing since it’s hotter than hell up there in the summer and freezing cold in the winter. But I have a very small bedroom up there with an AC in the window and I can quickly cook that room off due to how small it is. In the winter, I can use an electric heater just to warm it up enough for me to record. It does not have to be hot for me! lol
I can also cover the window so the room is dark. I could even add the padding to the walls for the sound if I want. I think this is going to be the perfect spot for me. It will even give me room to store my ASMR supplies that I use for my videos. I will start setting it up this week. So excited! I’ll show it to you when I’m done.

When shopping on ebay, always read the descriptions. Some items ship from overseas and can take a few weeks to arrive. Usually the description will state how long shipping might take. Also, for clothing, overseas sizes usually run on the small size so it’s good to order larger by a size or two. Always check the shipping charges. I’m not familiar with these sellers so please do your homework and shop accordingly. Some offer special deals like getting a free item or a percentage off if you buy a certain quantity so be sure you pay attention to that too!

No-Bake Raisin Bran Breakfast Bars Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup light corn syrup or honey
1/4 cup peanut butter
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
4 cups Raisin Bran cereal
1/2 cup chopped nuts of choice (optional)

DIRECTIONS:
1: Butter square pan, 8x8x2 inches.
2: Heat brown sugar and corn syrup just to boiling in 3-quart saucepan over medium heat, stirring frequently. Remove from heat; stir in peanut butter and cinnamon until smooth.
3: Stir in cereal and peanuts or almonds until evenly coated. Press firmly in pan. Let stand about 1 hour or until set. Cut into 4 rows by 3 rows. Store loosely covered at room temperature.
Darlene’s Tips: You can try this with just about any cereal and you can add other ingredients like mini marshmallows, shredded coconut, dried fruit, etc. Have fun experimenting!

It’s Sunday!
And it’s hot. I think. I really have no clue. But I was told that it’s supposed to reach the high 90s with high humidity. I have not opened a door. My AC is cranked and all fans are on. I’m quite comfortable at the moment. But…
I have to hit Marden’s again. And they have NO AC! So I expect to be absolutely miserable soon. I won’t be there long. I just need to check a few things. I’m working on something new and I’m in the planning stages. If I can make it work, I’ll be spilling the beans soon!
I finished the afghan that I started for a new video. Well, almost finished. I’m done the crocheting part. I need to clip the loose ends then record my outro. Derrick has been editing is as I go. He’s on his way to Austria and his plan is to finish the editing there. I doubt that will happen…lol… but hey, you never know. When that video is edited, I will publish it. And I will start a new project asap!
Now I must switch gears and get busy working on my new plan which involves sweating my ass off in Marden’s. I don’t plan on recording.

Kitchen Sink Brownies Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

1 box (18.3 oz) Betty Crocker Brownie Mix (or store brand)
2 eggs
1/2 cup (1 stick) plus 6 tablespoons butter, divided
3 tablespoons water
2/3 cup chocolate morsels (or any flavor)
1/4 cup crushed Oreo cookies (or store knock off)
1/4 cup potato chips, coarsely crushed
1/4 cup mini pretzel twists
8 peanut butter cups, chopped

DIRECTIONS:
1: Heat oven to 350°F. Spray an 8 x 8-inch baking dish with nonstick baking spray.
2: In a large bowl, combine brownie mix, eggs, 1/2 cup softened butter and water. Stir until well mixed. Pour batter into prepared pan.
3: Bake for 50-52 minutes, or until the center springs back when touched lightly. Remove and cool completely.
4: In a microwave-safe bowl, microwave chocolate chips and 6 tablespoons butter together until melted. Stir until smooth. Spread on cooled brownies.
5: Top with Oreo cookies, potato chips, pretzel twists and peanut butter cups.
6: Place in fridge until chocolate topping sets. Slice into 9 pieces with a sharp knife. Serve and enjoy.
Darlene’s Tips: You can add anything you want to the topping! Some ideas: candy corn, caramels, rolo, peppermint patties, kettle corn, grahams, any cereal, whatever! Have fun with it!
