Saturday Chat – I Hope to Go Fabric Shopping!

It’s Saturday!

And I’m happy to announce that I got all the Fabric Frenzy packages in the mail! The last batch went out this morning.

Now that I have a bit of breathing room, I hope to hit Marden’s today to stock up on more fabric. That’s assuming there is still some kind of a sale. If there is no sale, I will at least go through their remnants. But I’d really love to pick up yardage.

I’m not sure if I’ll record any part of my outing. I will bring my camera just in case, but just not sure about recording. Maybe. Maybe not.

I am also going to get back to my scrappy crocheted afghan tutorial. It’s possible that I’ll be able to wrap up that project in the next few days. But Derrick is editing that one and he’s on his way to Austria tomorrow. He hopes to be able to edit while on the plane and during his 10 day trip, but I’m certainly not holding my breath for that. I told him he can edit when he gets back. No problem!

Not much else to chat about. I have lots of new ideas that I hope to put into action! Keep watching my videos and checking these blog chats for updates!

When shopping on ebay, always read the descriptions. Some items ship from overseas and can take a few weeks to arrive. Usually the description will state how long shipping might take. Also, for clothing, overseas sizes usually run on the small size so it’s good to order larger by a size or two. Always check the shipping charges. I’m not familiar with these sellers so please do your homework and shop accordingly. Some offer special deals like getting a free item or a percentage off if you buy a certain quantity so be sure you pay attention to that too!

Easy Caramel Apple Bars Recipe

Easy Caramel Apple Bars Recipe
a General Mills Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

1 pouch (1 lb 1.5 oz) Betty Crocker oatmeal cookie mix
1/2 cup cold butter
1 egg
1 cup finely chopped peeled apple
3/4 cup caramel topping
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
(see my tips below)

DIRECTIONS:

1: Heat oven to 350°F. Spray bottom of 13×9-inch pan with cooking spray.

2: In large bowl, cut butter into cookie mix using fork or pastry blender. Stir in egg until mixture is crumbly.

3: Reserve 1 1/2 cups cookie mixture. Press remaining cookie mixture into bottom of pan. Bake 15 minutes. Sprinkle apple evenly over crust. In small bowl, mix caramel topping and flour; drizzle over apples. Sprinkle reserved cookie mixture over apples.

4: Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely, about 2 hours. Cut into bars or squares.

Darlene’s Tips: You can add a bit of apple pie spice or cinnamon or nutmeg, etc., if you want more “pie” flavor.

Friday Chat – I Might Record AGAIN Today!

It’s Friday!

I tripple checked to make sure it really is Friday. Yesterday, when I typed my chat, I said it was Tuesday. I really thought it was Tuesday. I was so glad I noticed my mistake before I networked my post all over the place saying that it was Tuesday when it really was Wednesday. Or so I thought.

I changed my wording in the post and replaced the image above to the Wednesday image. I finished my post and networked it to all my facebook groups only to realize after that it was actually Thursday. I had to delete the facebook posts, fix my blog post, then network everyting again. Holy fucking shit, I was lost!

Today is Friday. I just checked again. To. Make. Sure.

I have to go out today! I need to run to Roger’s for ground beef, haddock and liver. But I also have other stuff on my list that I don’t buy there, so I’m hitting Hannaford first. I plan on chatting with you while I’m out and about, so stay tuned for a video later!

When I get home, I need to switch gears and pack orders. I’m hoping so much that I can get the rest done today. I will update in patreon and in the group to let everyone who ordered know if I accomplished all that. About half the packages went out this morning.

Other than that, I need to rearrange my freezer, especially since I’ll be freezing ground beef. And I’d like to make my mother another meatloaf. I might even freeze some cooked burger patties. That’s convenient not only for her, but for me too! Why on earth have I not done that yet???

Gotta run! I’m heading to the store now (just past noon) so you can expect a sort of early video. I want to have that published before I start back up with the packages.
