GIVEAWAY – Enter For a Chance to Win My Scrappy Hot Mess Mini Quilt

Posted by on December 3, 2017 at 7:46 pm
I use affiliate links in some of my posts. I may earn a commission if you use my links. Full disclosure.

Remember this quilt?  I made it as part of a quilting tutorial a few weeks ago.  It started out as a strip quilt, then it turned into a scrappy patchwork quilt, then it turned into a hot mess quilt!

When I say hot mess, I really mean it.  Please watch the series so you can see what you are getting. The quilt came apart in the wash and I had to fix it. It also pilled on the back. The ragged edge is extra long and quite sloppy.  There are lots of threads and even some bunched up threads. Hot mess.

My joy would be for this quilt to go to someone who has a pet that would love to sleep on it.  It really would make an awesome pet blanket.  But if you really want to use it as a lap quilt or a couch cozy, I guess I can’t stop you!

Here’s how you enter:

You must be in the USA for shipping purposes.

You must be subscribed to my Youtube channel.  You can subscribe here.

You must be a member of the Peanut Gallery facebook group.  You can request to join here.

Officially ENTER HERE for your chance to win!

You will also have a bonus option to increase your chances of winning!

Giveaway ends December 8 at 11:59pm. Winner is picked randomly by the gleam giveaway tool and will be notified by email. Be sure you enter with an email that you actually check!  If I don’t hear back from the winner after 3 business days, I reserve the right to pick another winner.

Thank you!

Sunday Chat

chat-sunday

It’s Sunday!

And I’m sick.

I started out with a scratch throat Friday night. Then it turned into a sore throat. Saturday I woke up coughing. By Saturday afternoon my head was completely congested including my ears. I went to bed early (before 9pm) because I could not do anything else. What a miserable night I had. I could not sleep. I didn’t want to get up.  I finally slept a bit this morning.  Feel like complete shit and I have so much to do.  I just hope it passes quickly. I don’t like to get sick with no health insurance.  I think I’ll be fine. Might take a bit, but I’ll eventually get past it.  I know it’s because I traveled. On the rare times that I get sick, it’s usually after being stuck in a plane.

Yesterday I was able to knock out a quickie and unexpected Tag Along with Me to Walmart video. Then I ended that video with an update showing you the batch of Beef Jerky that I made that day.  And yes, I knew someone would catch the fact that I touched the raw beef then touched my jerky. No worries. Guess what?  Jerky is raw too. Dry, but raw.  And I eat raw beef almost every day.  I love it. I always have. If you do enough research you’ll discover beef is about the safest and most nutritious meat you can eat. And yes,  you can eat it raw. Many eat only raw beef.  And if you still insist on telling me raw beef with kill me, I’ll just go ahead and tell you that’s the way I choose to die.

Today I still will try very hard to record the Nov youtube stats.  The stats suck so that goes right along with the way I feel. lol  Pretty sure I can get that done. Then I need to work on my Fabric Frenzy. And I must get that giveaway up today for the mini quilt!  I think I can accomplish these things. I have no plans to go out at all.

INGREDIENTS:

check for coupons for ingredients here
1 package (16 oz) Pillsbury Ready To Bake! refrigerated sugar cookies
24 large marshmallows
1 container (1 lb) vanilla creamy ready-to-spread frosting
Red, yellow and black gel food colors
48 white vanilla baking chips (for Santa’s suit buttons)

Darlene’s Tips:  You could try using store bought cookies and just add the marshmallows on top and heat in the oven until softened. You could also use the vanilla frosting for the buttons.

DIRECTIONS:

1:  Heat oven to 350°F. On ungreased cookie sheet, place dough rounds 2 inches apart. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Meanwhile, slightly flatten marshmallows.

2:  Remove from oven, and top each cookie with marshmallow. Return to oven, and bake 1 to 2 minutes or until slightly softened.

3:  Remove cookies from cookie sheets; cool completely on cooling racks. Meanwhile, separate frosting into 3 small bowls, using 1 1/4 cups to make red frosting, 1/4 cup for yellow frosting and 1/4 cup for black frosting. Add food color to each, and mix to get desired colors (red, yellow and black). Frost and decorate cookies to look like Santa’s belly, using photo as a guide.

WALMART CLEARANCE –

Order online with FREE Store Pickup (if available)

Or ships FREE to home with $35 purchase

Availability can change at any time.  Once the clearance deals are posted, stuff sells out quick so these deals may be limited or no longer available.

NOTE:  Clearance items are not always available in your store. They might be only in the warehouse. Most items can be ordered online and sent to your store and you can pick it up for free.  If you don’t like or it does not fit, you can return it directly to the store. So easy!

SHOPPING TIP: If you get close to the $35 minimum, simply order other stuff you always buy including groceries! There are more and more grocery items available on Walmart.com now that you can have shipped to your home. I love ordering the big and heavy stuff for home delivery like 20 rolls of toiler paper or big jugs of laundry detergent, stuff like that. I do about half of my grocery shopping on Walmart.com now. So convenient!
