Friday Chat – Open Mail Today, Easter Toilet Paper Craft, Trash Bag Plarn!

TGIF!

It’s Friday! Time for me to open my fan mail today! I’m so anxious to see what garments I received for my Upcycled Fashions. I will be creating a simple transformation today. I already have the garments picked out that I will be using. So no matter what I get in this week’s mail, I’m committed to the garments I already chose. The new stuff like get marked with names and hung on a rack for me to marvel at while trying to decide what to do with them!

Yesterday, I came up with a cute and easy Toilet Paper Roll Craft that you can do with the kids for Easter. Or you can make some of the cute bunnies to fill with treats and tuck in Easter baskets. The bunnies are a hit for the young and the old. My mother has hers sitting right on her little table. I gave it to her now because I was anxious to show her what I made for my video. But she’s waiting until Easter to eat her chocolate bar.

I also showed you how to make plarn out of trash bags. I like this plarn better than grocery bags. It’s so easy to cut and the loops are much longer. I also showed a sample of what it looks like when knitted. Just too fun!

I have so many things I want to do today! First, I must open mail and get that video uploaded. I also want to make my upcycled fashion that I’m hoping will be easy. And I promised to show you rope weaving with a 32 notch loom and I think I’m now ready to try that. Let’s get this day started!

Easy Jell-O Sugar Cookies Recipe

Easy Jell-O Sugar Cookies Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

1 pouch Betty Crocker sugar cookie mix
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1 box (4-serving size) Jell-O gelatin strawberry-flavored
1 box (4-serving size) Jell-O gelatin berry blue-flavored
1 box (4-serving size) Jell-O gelatin lime-flavored
1 box (4-serving size) Jell-O gelatin orange-flavored

Darlene’s Tips: Use store brand ingredients to save money! You could also decorate these colorful cookies for Easter. You can make cookie sandwiches by adding frosting between two cookies!

DIRECTIONS:

Step 1: Heat oven to 375°F. Line cookie sheet with cooking parchment paper.

Step 2: In large bowl, beat cookie mix, softened butter and egg with spoon or electric mixer on medium speed until well combined. Separate dough into 4 small bowls.

Step 3: Add a half packet of each color gelatin per bowl; knead dough to work color in until well combined. Roll each bowl of dough into 5 small balls of dough each.

Step 4: Pour remaining gelatin onto 4 small plates; roll each ball of dough in its corresponding color. Place on cookie sheet 2 inches apart.

Step 5: Bake about 12 minutes or until lightly golden on edges. Cool completely before serving.

Thursday Chat – No Sew Cover Up, Parking Lot Vlog, Plans for Today

Happy Thursday!

The main reason I love Thursdays is because Thursday nights are the beginning of Sandy Pro’s weekend. That means there is a chance we will get together on Friday!

I also love Thursdays for now because of the Amazing Race. I love the new season so far with all strangers running the race together. I would love an all celebrity version of the race! Maybe one day. I’d love a celebrity Survivor too. I don’t think that will ever happen. lol

Yesterday, I had to run to Hannaford for some bread and I did a Parking Lot Vlog while in my car. Then I made a new No Sew Cover Up using just one yard of fabric! It came out great!

I have so many projects I’d love to do today. Just not enough time. I really want to start another quilt block series now and not wait until the quilt block party is done. I’m quite sure I can handle two quilt block series at the same time. Don’t you? lol Or maybe I should just try to knock out two or even three of the block party blocks and get that series finished. I think that would be the best option. Less confusing.
