Do not let this pattern scare you!  It’s super easy, I promise!

You can cut your pieces for one block at a time or you can just go wild and do all your cutting before sewing. Mix all kinds of prints and colors. You can even mix your regular cotton with batik, flannel, homespun, muslin… whatever you have on hand.

I tried to use sizes that you might have purchased from me, like the 2 inch squares, 5 inch scrappies (they’ll need to be trimmed to 5″ since I usually cut 5.25″) and 2 inch strips (they can be cut into the size you need and can also be cut into 2″ squares).

Let’s get started!

Please watch this video playlist to follow along.

There is NO sashing for this quilt. We want all those scraps to blend.  The black lines on the pattern are there just to break up the blocks so you can see how to make each one.

There are only 5 different cuts you need to make.  They are labeled A, B, C, D and E.  I’m giving you how many you need of each cut below.

A:  2″ Square – You need 80

B:  3.5″ Square – You need 36

C:  5″ Square – You need 12

D: 6.5″ Square – You need 12

E: 2″ x 6.5″ – You need 16

The finished size of this quilt is about 31 inches wide by 42 inches long.  You can add a border if you like to make it larger. You can also add additional blocks, maybe do 4 across by 5 down. That would make it about 42 inches wide by 52 inches long.  To make additional blocks, just pick blocks that are already in the quilt and repeat them. Then turn the blocks as desired. You’ve got this!
