Please remember that I don’t eat this stuff so I did not make this recipe. I’m just posting so you can try it!
INGREDIENTS:
1 lb ground sausage (plain, italian, hot, your choice)
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (8 oz)
1 can (8 oz) Pillsbury refrigerated crescent rolls
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
DIRECTIONS:
1: Heat oven to 375°F. Line 15x10x1-inch baking sheet with foil. Spray foil with cooking spray.
2: Mix sausage and cheese in a large bowl using hands or spoon.
3: Unroll crescent dough on work surface. Coat each side of dough with 1 tablespoon flour. Cut dough into very small pieces, about 1/4-inches each, using a pizza cutter or knife. Tip: cut 1/4 inch strips in one direction then 1/4 in pieces by cutting in the other direction.
4: Mix crescent dough pieces into bowl of sausage mixture in small amounts until well blended.
5: Shape mixture into 42 1-inch balls. Place in pan. Bake 15 to 17 minutes or until golden brown.

Darlene’s Tips: You can add seasonings of your choice or buy seasoned sausage. Add as much flour as needed to dust the crescent dough so the pieces you cut do not stick together. You could also use corn starch. If some stick, no biggie. Try serving these with spaghetti for a different kind of spaghetti and meatball dinner! You can also use any shredded cheese. Ground beef instead of sausage or a mix of both would work too.
