UPDATE: I am not comfortable promoting Electricity Maine

I use affiliate links in some of my posts. I may earn a commission if you use my links. Full disclosure.

UPDATE:  Thanks to one of my facebook fans, I was encouraged to read the terms of service for Electricity Maine.  After reading the terms and still not understanding what I was getting into, I cancelled my enrollment. I have too many questions so I can’t promote this deal at this time. I’m waiting for a call back for answers.

One thing you should know is that if you sign up with Electricity Maine, you are entering a year long service contract and there is a $100 Cost Recovery Fee if you cancel before the year is up.

If you signed up and you want out, the instructions are below. You have 5 business days from the time you signed up to back out without incurring the $100 fee… at least that’s how I read it.

Click here for their terms. Section 7 talks about the $100 fee. Section 9 explains how to back out:

9. Right to Rescind. YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO RESCIND THIS CONTRACT FOR ELECTRICTY SUPPLY WITHOUT PENALTY WITHIN FIVE BUSINESS DAYS OF YOUR SUBSCRIPTION. IN ORDER TO EXERCISE YOUR RIGHT TO RESCIND THIS CONTRACT, YOU MUST CONTACT US BY ONE OF THE FOLLOWING THREE MEANS:
1. By telephone at: 866-573-2674;
2. By mailing us a written notice to rescind at:
Electricity Maine, LLC
PO Box 1150
Auburn, Maine 04211-1150; or
3. Electronically through Electricity Maine’s website at www.electricityme.com.

If you live in Maine and you are serviced by either CMP or BHE, you can enroll with Electricity Maine and save 17% on your electric bill!

I just heard about this on TV yesterday but forgot about it. Then my BFF forwarded some info to me today, so I read up on it (a bit) and signed up! It took only a minute to enroll.  If I can knock 17% off my bill, then cool beans!

I will let you decide for yourself:

Enrollment form for Electricity Maine (quick and easy)

Electricity Maine terms of service (long and boring)

Article about Electricity Maine in the Bangor Daily News (as long and boring as the terms of service, at least to me…lol)

Thanks for the heads up Janella!
