Please remember that I don’t eat this stuff so I did not make this recipe. I’m just posting so you can try it!
INGREDIENTS:
2 lb fresh chicken wings
1 cup root beer
1½ cups barbecue sauce of your choice
DIRECTIONS:
1: Spray 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Place chicken in slow cooker.
2: Stir root beer and barbecue sauce in a bowl until well blended. Reserve 1 cup sauce. Pour remaining sauce over chicken. Stir to coat.
3: Cover and cook on Low heat setting 3 to 4 hours. Serve with remaining sauce for dipping.

Darlene’s Tips: If using frozen wings, let them thaw first. If you want a bit of a crispier version, place the cooked wings under the broiler for a bit before serving. Don’t like root beer? Use cola. You could try this recipe with chicken drumsticks instead of wing pieces. Don’t want chicken? Use frozen cooked meatballs and cut the cooking time.
