INGREDIENTS:

6 apples washed, peeled and sliced
1 package Pillsbury refrigerated sugar cookie dough
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
3 tablespoons cinnamon
1 tablespoon butter
(see my tips below)

See my Darlene’s Concoctions videos!

DIRECTIONS:

1:  Place sliced apples on the bottom of a greased 9×13-inch pan.

2:  Sprinkle brown sugar over the top of the apples.

3:  Cut the butter into tiny chunks and toss on top of the brown sugar.

4:  Combine the white sugar and 3 tablespoons cinnamon into a bowl.

5:  Break off pieces of the cookie dough and roll into balls.  Roll each ball in the sugar mixture and place on top of the apple mixture. You can add as little or as much of the cookie dough as you like.

6:  Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for about 15 minutes or until cookies are baked. Cool slightly and serve either warm or at room temperature.

Darlene’s Tips:  You could also crumble the cookie dough and toss it into the cinnamon sugar then sprinkle on the apple mix. Might be a quicker and easier step. You could use apple pie spice instead of the cinnamon or even just use sugar and no spice.  Serve with ice cream or whipped topping or pudding or all of those things!  A drizzle of caramel syrup might be good too.
