THIS GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED!
Congrats to the winners of Monday’s giveaway, Melissa Doody and Norma Thompson! Please email me your mailing addresses and I’ll send out your coupons.
Monday’s giveaway was so popular that I’m doing it again today! The way to enter has changed a bit, so please read this entire post.
If you live close to a Hannaford, you might want to get in on this one. I’m giving away $20 worth of Hannaford coupons from the coupon booklet that came out last fall.
The winner will get…
(10) $1 off any Hannaford item
(10) $1 off any My Essential item
The nice thing about these coupons is they do not state a minimum purchase, so you can walk in a buy a $1 item and get it for FREE! Use all the coupons and you’ll get $20 worth of FREE food!
The coupons expire March 16, and since you can only use 1 of each per transaction (it states one per household but they have always allowed using them each time you shop), you will need to do 10 mini trips to use them all.
Want to win? Here’s how:
1. Be sure you are subscribed to my daily email. Look for the subscribe box under my smiling face on this blog and sign up. You will have to check your email to verify the subscription. If you subscribed in the past but you don’t get my email, you probably never verified, so sign up again. If you already get my daily email, just skip down to step 2.
2. Leave a comment on the facebook post for this giveaway and also “like” the post. Click here to go to the facebook post and leave a comment stating that you entered the giveaway! Also “like” the post while you are there!
3. Like my facebook page. If you have not already “liked” Deals by Darlene, please do! If I reach 900 fans before midnight, I will pick 2 lucky winners instead of just 1 lucky winner!
4. Send me an email. Send an email to dzines@metrocast.net. This email counts as your entry so you must do this step to be eligible to win!
***BONUS*** If you share the post on facebook, your entry will count as 3 entries so you’ll have a better chance of winning! You must let me know that you shared the post when you send me your email. You don’t have to do this step to be eligible.
I’ll pick a random winner (or 2 winners if I reach 900 fans) after midnight tonight!
Good luck!

This is the 5th week in a row (yes, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 weeks) that Hannaford does not have a store catalina coupon for us when we scan our Hannaford stickers (2/26 through 3/3). At least not according to their weekly email.
You might be wondering why I keep reporting this non-deal week after week… well, it’s because I know many people know think scanning their Hannaford sticker is a waste of time, but I want to remind everyone that you still need to scan it if you are a SavingStar member.
You might also be wondering why they don’t give us a shiny new store catalina each week. When I called and spoke to Robin (see below) she told me it’s not cost-effective for them to do a coupon every week. Okay. But they are spending lots of money sending us all stickers that most people will stop using because they don’t get anything when scanning it. Does that make sense?
On a good note, some of us were able to score some almost free I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter (me, me, me) and Country Crock (not me) this week. No sticker necessary… lol! The deal might still be going on… see if you can still print the coupons then check your Hannaford!!!
Anyway, you still need to scan your sticker at Hannaford if you are a SavingStar member. I really think the only reason Hannaford even came up with a sticker program is so they could be involved with SavingStar.

Learn about SavingStar here. And check out the SavingStar Quaker deal where you get $5 back for spending $15! There is also a Kellogg’s saving star deal for $5 back if you spend $20. Go to your account and check it out!
If you would like to see a weekly catalina coupon at Hannaford or if you would like Hannaford to change their policy to allow coupon stacking, call 1-800-341-6393, ask for Robin Woodbury’s voice mail and leave a quick message!

I am beyond excited to report that I got a deal at Hannaford… yes, Hannaford! Sure, I get deals at Hannaford using their various $1 off store coupons. But, it’s rare that I use my printed coupons there since they don’t have the good sales Shaw’s has and they don’t double coupons.
Well, tonight was different!
I noticed that facebook fan Danielle posted on Chrystie’s I Love to Gossip facebook page that Hannaford in Gray had I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter on closeout for $1.35. I posted the info on my page, then fan Jennifer said Millinocket also had it on closeout. And guess what? Sanford did too!
After using this $1.25 off any ICBINB product, a two pack of spread was only 10¢ each! I got 4 packs for just 40¢ which works out to only 5¢ per tub of ICBINB! Ain’t life grand?
Sanford still had plenty left, so if you are in Sanford, print this coupon and head to the store!
Country Crock is also on closeout for $1.25, so only 25¢ after this $1/1 Country Crock coupon (try 90210 or 77477). Sanford, however, was wiped out. Maybe your Hannaford has some!
Let’s hear it for Hannaford… hip, hip, hooray!
Oh, and the coupons did not scan (new bar code) but my cashier kindly entered them manually :O)

This is the 4th week in a row that Hannaford does not have a catalina coupon for us when we scan our Hannaford stickers (2/19-2/25). Seems like they need to come up with something on a weekly basis to reward those who take the time to order those little stickers!
However, their weekly email boasts that we can now rate and review their products, so that might be fun! It looks like you have to sign up for the Hannaford sticker to be allowed to rate and review.

Another thing Hannaford keeps promoting on a weekly basis is SavingStar. If you are a SavingStar member, you must scan your Hannaford sticker every time you shop so you can get your SavingStar refunds. Learn about SavingStar here. And check out the SavingStar Quaker deal where you get $5 back for spending $15!
If you would like to see a weekly catalina coupon at Hannaford or if you would like Hannaford to change their policy to allow coupon stacking, call 1-800-341-6393, ask for Robin Woodbury’s voice mail and leave a quick message!

I know many of you recently got your Hannaford stickers and you are probably wondering just what that sticker can do for you. One thing it does is get you catalina coupons (like $1 off produce or $1 off bakery), but only during weeks when Hannaford offers them.
This week Hannaford does not have an catalina coupon for us (3rd week in a row they don’t give us one… boo hoo). So, no matter how many times you scan your sticker, you will not get a coupon. This can lead you to think it’s a waste of time to scan your sticker.
But, if you are a member of SavingStar, you still have to scan your Hannaford sticker every time so you can earn your SavingStar refunds! Right now SavingStar has an awesome Quaker deal where you get $5 back when you spend $15! If you don’t scan your sticker, you can’t get the refund!

Hannaford put out a new PDF coupon for Hellmann’s mayo. This would come in super handy if it could be stacked with a manny Q, but according to Hannaford’s written coupon policy, they do not allow stacking.
If you’d like Hannaford to allow coupon stacking, read this entire post… you can help!
Hannaford Store Coupon for $1/2 Hellmann’s Mayonnaise, 22 oz – exp 2/29/12
I believe customers have the power to make changes! I just got off the phone with Robin Woodbury, the Consumer Affair Specialist for Hannaford, and she said “we do not allow coupon stacking because it does not fit in with our everyday low price strategy.”
That is the best answer she could give me. That answer was not good enough for me… lol!
I told Robin I’m starting a campaign to get their coupon stacking policy changed and that she could expect some calls. She was very nice and said she would relay any customer concerns about coupon policies to the team of people who make the decisions.
If you want to leave Robin a message, call corporate at 1-800-341-6393 and ask for Robin Woodbury’s voicemail. If you can’t think of anything to say, all you have to say is your first name, which Hannaford you shop at, then say “please allow coupon stacking.” That’s it! If you want to say Deals by Darlene (or Darlene Michaud) sent you, that’s fine too. But, I have a feeling she’ll know I sent you :O)
