Learn about the myHannaford sticker here
Here’s how you can use the coupon during your current shopping trip:
Pick up ONE cheapie item like one donut hole. Have the cashier scan your myHannaford sticker, pay for that ONE item and get your $1 off Bakery coupon from the catalina machine (they’ll give it to you with your receipt).
Now, turn around and get at least a $1 worth of bakery items and you can use the coupon! You will get a new $1 off Bakery coupon each time you shop. Keep your trips tiny so you can get lots of Bakery coupons and keep rolling them over! You can only use one per transaction.
NOTE: You can’t scan your myHannaford sticker at the self-scan. You need to go to a cashier if you want to get the $1 off Bakery coupon.

Dear Darlene,
Can I use a Shaw’s catalina at Hannaford if it says manufacturer coupon on it?
Thanks!
Kimberly
—–
Dear Kimberly,
If the coupon does not state that you can only use it at Shaw’s, then you should be able to use it anywhere that accepts manufacturer coupons. With that said, you can most likely expect cashiers and managers to stare at the coupon and say no.
If I am ever in doubt about a coupon, I find whoever is in charge and I discuss the coupon before I shop. If I have info to help my case, I bring it with me. Hannaford has a customer service number on their coupon policy. This is what you should do…
Call the Hannaford customer service number listed at the bottom of their policy (find it here) and ask if you can use the coupon. If they say yes…
Get the name and extension of the person you are speaking to and tell them that you will be calling them back if there is an issue at the store.
Go to the store and speak to the front end manager before you shop. Tell them you had questions about a coupon and explain that you called customer service and spoke to (give name) and they said you were good to go. Show your coupon to the front end person and ask if they agree. By explaining all the steps you took before even showing them the coupon, it will make it much harder for the front end person to just say no.
If the front end person still says you can’t use the coupon, explain that it’s important to you that everyone is on the same page, then take out your phone and call customer service right then and there.
I know this all sounds… well, it sounds extreme! And it is! But that’s how you learn the ropes and it’s also how you help educate your store. Many times a manager will say no to a coupon just because they are not sure. If you do your homework before you shop, and if you take the time to chat with your front end manager, all will go smooth as silk!
If you have a Dear Darlene question, click here to send me an email. If you have an urgent question, it’s better to post on my facebook page and if I’m not around, someone else will most likely help you.

There are some new – and totally fantastic – pdf coupons hosted on the Hannaford site that we can use through January 21!
$1 OFF any purchase of $1 or more from Hannaford Meat Department
$2 OFF any purchase of $2 or more from Hannaford Deli Department
$3 OFF any order of $40 or more
Want to know how to get some freebies with these coupons?

There is also a $5 off $50 catalina this week, but I doubt that Hannaford will allow you to use both the $5/$50 and the $3/$40 in the same transaction. If you try it, have them scan the $5 off coupon first, then hand them the $3 off. That way if you can’t use both, you will at least get the higher value of $5 off.
The coupons state one per household, but they have always allowed customers to use one each time they shop. You can only use one meat and one deli coupon at a time, but you can use both in the same transaction.
Thanks for the heads up Regina!
