It occurred to me that the register didn’t enforce the “coupons with same number” policy after all since we’d divided our purchases into two transactions due to duplicate coupon numbers, and the cashier successfully put them all into one transaction. (Not sure why he opted to do so vs. just leave them separate, but it worked.)
So had they accepted the frosting coupons, then we could’ve used several, but no.
Hi Darlene (and other interested parties),
Our NH Walmart would not accept the Duncan Hines coupons, citing that “we don’t do free”. I assume what the manager meant is that he was invoking these parts of their policy:
(1) “We gladly accept the following types of coupons*…For free items (except those printed off the Internet)”, the key part being the “off the Internet”
and/or “We do not accept the following coupons:…Print-at-home Internet coupons that require no purchase”.
However, neither really makes it clear that they would not accept the coupons since the coupons would result in our getting the items for free.
Also, they explained (and showed me) that many of the coupons printed off the Internet have the same coupon number on them, which constitutes a duplicate coupon and prevents the register from processing more than one. So though some sites allow 2 prints per computer, if they’re identical coupons, then Wal-Mart won’t accept them.
Our Wal-Marts also had no Simply Asia/Thai Kitchen seasoning packets.
I also have to check my receipt since I’m skeptical that they applied the overages.
Wal-Mart was not as fruitful or fun as Shaw’s.
Hey Darlene I was at walmart last night and near an endcap they had these on clearance for 50 cents.
I like to put the caramel one in my brownie mix. How long do you think before Duncan Hines realizes that we are not buying a frosting for every packet we get for free?
