** Need Your Help ** Did your Earthbound Farm Coupons give a Fraud Alert at the register?

The last time I purchased carrots using our favorite Earthbound Farm coupon, the register at Shaw’s in Sanford alerted the cashier that the coupon might be fraudulent.  I knew the coupon was good, and the cashier totally knows me, so she put it through manually.  That was back on March 22 when I bought a bunch of carrots to donate to the food pantry. Some of the coupons went through just fine, some got that fraud alert.

Since then, I’ve been getting reports that others are also getting the same fraud alert. I contacted Earthbound Farm to see if they had any idea what is going on. They said they have gotten some reports but that I’m the first blogger to contact them. They would like to know if I can gather up more details from my readers so they can try to find out what is going on.

If you used any Earthbound Farm coupons lately that came up as fraudulent, please leave a comment below, and tell us which store, which town, and an approximate date, and whatever other details you can remember.  Did the cashier actually tell you there was a fraud alert?  Or did it just not scan?  How did your cashier handled it?  Did they enter it? Refuse it?

    yes, I got a fraud alert a couple weeks ago, but not yesterday. At first the supervisor said that that it looked like the coupons were photocopied, but I said I printed both of them…and upon further examination she noticed they had different codes and then put it through manually.

    Yesterday, April 5th at the Hillsborough, NH store my Earthbound Farm coupons came up as Possibly Fraudulent at the register. The manager keyed them in manual for me.

    I used two of these coupons in the Sanford Shaw’s on Friday April 5th around 5:15 p.m. The first one scanned just fine but the second one came up as possibly fraudulent. The cashier was new so she looked at the girl bagging who has cashed me out many times and she told the cashier to just put it through. They were both very nice about it.

    Hi Darlene – Around Easter time (right before that) I used the coupon to purchase some carrots at Shaws in Marshfield, MA – something came up on the register and the cashier got the manager. He said he would put it through just this once but that the there was something wrong with this coupon but he knew that I didn’t know that. So he manually changed it for me. He was very nice about that. Since then – I have not printed or used any of their coupons.

    I was in the Bangor Shaw’s on Friday, April 5th at 8:00AM and it came up possibly counterfeit. They took the coupon and I had them take the carrots out.

  • My husband went shopping with the Earthbound carrot coupons that I always print right from their site yesterday at the Shaws in Bangor, it was about 9:30 am. The cashier scanned one and said it was possibly counterfeit. My husband told her we been using them all along with no problems. The manager came over, took the coupon and copied it and she said she was going to look into it. They didn’t accept them, she said there had been others in before him that morning and the same thing was happening.

    My husband bought 2 bags April 5 in Biddeford. They didn’t say anything, just entered them manually.

    I went to the Biddeford Maine Shaws yesterday (April 5th) and had 2 Earthbound coupons. The first one scanned through just fine and the second did not. She said it showed a fraud alert but entered it manually for me because she knows I coupon a lot and would not do that.

    I purchased 4 bags of carrots at the Bangor, ME Shaw’s on April 3rd. The first Q startled the young male cashier. He called the manager over who was also surprised. They both just stared at the register surprised. I finally asked, “Is there a problem?” My husband and I were told that the Q came up as possibly fraudulent and they could not accept it. They apologized. I did not buy the carrots. I wrote to EF and received a very nice reply including that they would send me printed coupons if I sent them my mailing address, and they apologized, as well. P.S. I DO love these carrots as do all the people with whom I’ve shared. 🙂

    I purchased 4 bags of carrots at the Bangor Shaw’s yesterday, April 5th. When the cashier was scanning the coupons they didn’t go through and she became very flustered but didn’t say anything to my husband and I. She manually entered them with no issues.
