Everything went smooth as silk for me today at Shaw’s!  I ran in to pick up my Classico.  I planned on doing maybe just one transaction, but it went so well that I did all 6 of my transactions today, plus one for reduced stuff. I went to my car twice to put stuff away then got back in line.  It wasn’t busy, and I don’t think anyone ever got behind me, but just in case someone did, I don’t like doing more than 2 back to back. Also, I get flustered if I do it all at once. And I need all the exercise I can get, so going to the car and back is good for me!

Before I give you my break down, I want to explain that I have 2 separate SavingStar accounts, one in my name and one in my husband’s name, each with their own store cards and Shaw’s tags.  Whenever there is a good SavingStar deal, I get to do it twice!

Here we go…

For the Classico, I did separate transactions using 2 different SavingStar accounts, 12 jars on each tag.

Transaction #1:
(4) Classico Pasta Sauce 24 oz on sale for $1.50 each
(2) Prince Pasta (Shaw’s sale is 1 free pasta for every 2 jars of sauce)
Used $1/3 Classico printable coupon (might be reset again! no longer available)
I paid $5.00 at the register
I got $3.00 OYNO catalina for buying 4 Classico 24 oz

Transactions #2 thru #6
(4) Classico Pasta Sauce 24 oz on sale for $1.50 each
(2) Prince Pasta (Shaw’s sale is 1 free pasta for every 2 jars of sauce)
Used $1/3 Classico printable coupon (might be reset again! no longer available)
Also used $3 cat from previous transaction
I paid $2.00 at the register
I got $3.00 OYNO catalina for buying 4 Classico 24 oz

After those 6 transactions, I ended up with 24 jars of Classico and 12 boxes of Prince and I paid $15.00 out of pocket.  I also had a $3.00 catalina left over.

I also sent through the salt in two separate transactions using my 2 SavingStar accounts.

(1) Diamond Crystal Kosher Salt at $1.15 (reg price in Sanford)
Used (1) $.40/1 Diamond Crystal printable (it was on zip 33133, NLA?)
coupon doubled to $.80 off
I paid $.35 at the register
did this twice… totally need salt to boil all that pasta!

Produce:
7 bananas, 7 plums, 2 oranges, 1 apple, 3 yellow squash, all in reduced
Total $3.37
I used my last $3.00 catalina
I paid $.37 for all my produce

Paid at the register
Classico deal $15
Salt $.70
Produce $.37
Total at register: $16.07

SavingStar refunds (2 accounts)
(2) $5.00 refunds for Classico, $10
(2) $.40 refunds for the salt. $.80
Total SavingStar refunds: $10.80

Final price is only $5.27 for everything you see!

I just tried this deal at my local Shaw’s but a catalina did not print. Has anyone else had a problem with this?

    • Darlene

There are always times when the cat does not print. I got lucky and all 6 of mine printed. If after the first transaction it does not print, always go to a different register. If you get a register that works, stick with that register. If you go to customer service, they should refund you.

Hi Darlene. I’m not sure why this page says the coupon is no longer available. Maybe it’s a reset but I was able to print two tonight with no problem from http://thecouponbook.extrasforme.com/

Although I posted the apple juice deal, I am a water drinker so I only pick up juice if it’s free or close to it 🙂
