Newbie Tuesday Tip: Ask questions before you shop!
If you are unsure about how to use a certain coupon or how a deal is supposed to work, find the front end person and ask them your questions. Once you get your answers, ask for their name and tell them that if the cashier is not sure, you will call them over for help.
When you get to your cashier, you can soften the transaction in advance by saying you spoke to so-and-so and that they will come over if needed. If your cashier still says “you can’t do this” just have them call over the person you spoke to and the problem is solved!
P.S. I’ve been couponing since May 2011 and I still do this any time I think there might be an issue. Works like a charm every time!
