Sorry about the background noise in this video. I had my AC running. I know there is a way to remove background noise using Audacity, but I have not figured it out yet.  And once again, you will hear strange things about me in this video, stuff about my OCD ways. Don’t judge me! lol  Oh, the Ajax you see is FREE with Savingstar!

Darlene- I am a follower of your website regarding Shaw’s. I am hopeful that you and your followers might help raise a voice to corporate Shaw’s regarding their terrible new policy!
Following is the email I am sending to corporate:

I have been a loyal Shaw’s customer for many years , (since the local store opened). I find myself in a position that I am VERY annoyed and disappointed with corporate at Shaw’s . I must solidly state that this has Nothing to do with the people who operate the branch and the employees.
First a bit about me. I am 73 years old and I live with my husband on a fixed income. We live in a small town in rural Maine. I am frugal, creative with foods and I love to cook and feed us well within a budget. Very important is also the fact that I abhor unnecessary waste!
My dissatisfaction and ire relate to the new Corporate mandate that it is no longer allowed that any produce can be offered in reduced form. All fruits and vegetables that are approaching expiration dates or have a mar, MUST be thrown out!
I see many people of all ages and also a significant number of elders much older than myself who count on these things to help stretch their food dollars and allow us to buy other things.
I questioned some employees as to whether the food at least was being used in food pantries or soup kitchens and was told no, It had to go to trash or someplace akin to pig farms !!
Let me state again that we are fortunate to have the most courteous and helpful managers and employees in our local store and this has nothing to do with them !
It would seem to me that you potentially lose viable business when you make decisions to cut out some of the things that draw people into your store. I would also imagine that the “reduced price” covered the stores purchase costs! We buy many items other than reduced “deals” when we come into the store. Keep in mind that it is a small town, but it still has three other grocery chains in the immediate local area.
I am in hopes that you will rethink this decision and reinstate the past offerings.
You can do away with the “Gimmicks and games”, and hold onto the things that help people on a limited budget.
