Super Simple Crock Pot Apple Cranberry Sauce
a General Mills Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

4 medium apples, peeled, chopped
1 bag (12 oz) fresh cranberries (3 cups)
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup orange juice
(see my tips below)

DIRECTIONS:
1: Spray with cooking spray. Add all ingredients to slow cooker and mix.
2: Cover; cook on High heat setting 5 hours (or on Low heat setting 8 hours).
3: Leave sauce chunky, if desired, or stir well to break down apples and cranberries more. Serve warm.

Darlene’s Tips: The image shows it topped with grated orange peel but you can totally skip that step. You can add more sugar if it’s too tart. You can substitue white sugar for brown or you can have a mix of both. You can also serve this cold just like any canned cranberry jelly or sauce.

When shopping on ebay, always read the descriptions. Some items ship from overseas and can take a few weeks to arrive. Usually the description will state how long shipping might take. Also, for clothing, overseas sizes usually run on the small size so it’s good to order larger by a size or two. Always check the shipping charges. I’m not familiar with these sellers so please do your homework and shop accordingly. Some offer special deals like getting a free item or a percentage off if you buy a certain quantity so be sure you pay attention to that too!

Easy No Bake Turkey Cookies
a General Mills Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

Round store bought cookies of your choice (or bake some if you want to)
Chocolate frosting (see my tips below)
Candy corn
Orange decorating icing
Miniature candy-coated chocolate baking bits
Black decorating gel
(see my tips below)

DIRECTIONS:
1: Pipe frosting on outer edge of half of cookie.
2: Arrange candy corn over frosting for feathers.
3: Pipe orange icing onto each cookie to resemble turkey face and feet.
4: Use orange icing to attach baking bits to turkey face for eyes (see my tips below).
5: Pipe black gel on baking bits for centers of eyes (see my tips below).

Darlene’s Tips: You can go ahead and buy or make white frosting and tint it orange with food coloring (mix red and yellow). Use the orange frosting as the glue for the candy corn and also for the face and feet. And you can skip creating the eyes and just use or you can use some of the white frosting to pipe on the eyes and add or cut pieces of shoestring black licorice for the pupils. Have fun with it!
