Paid $27.86 for $192.19 worth of groceries at Shaw’s – give the dog a bone!

I use affiliate links in some of my posts. I may earn a commission if you use my links. Full disclosure.

One thing I hate to run out of is dog bones (my dogs hate it too!). So, when I came across this Milk Bone deal (see below), I just had to buy all the boxes I had coupons for!

The other very exciting thing for me was the Willow Tree chicken salad. I printed coupons for Willow Tree for the first three months of my couponing career, but I never found a sale to go along with the coupons so I finally stopped printing them (that chicken salad is $3.99 for half a pound, and the coupons are $2 off, but $1.99 for half a pound is still too much!).

A few nights ago I saw Willow Tree in the reduced deli section with stickies for $2 off, but I didn’t have any coupons to go with it. I printed off two coupons when I got home with the hopes of finding that deal again. And tonight, I did!  With my $2 off on top of the $2 off stickies, I got two tubs (one pound total) for FREE!  I love FREE!

I’m too beat to give the step by step breakdown for Shaw’s (I did CVS tonight too, you can see that breakdown here), but I will point out highlights.

One shining moment was the Milk Bone dog biscuits. About 2 weeks ago, someone at Walmart was handing out pet food coupons. She saw my shoebox of coupons and said she would be tossing all the coupons that she had left so she offered to give them ALL to me!  Of course, I took them.  I got a bunch of coupons that gave me $2 off 2 boxes of Milk Bones and a bunch of $1.50 off kitten food. I only bought 5 bags of the cat food to bring my total over $25 and I’ll wait for a sale to hopefully get more for free… too bad I don’t have a cat!

Anyhoo… I was THRILLED to see the Milk Bones on sale B1G1 free! The price was $3.89, so after my $2 off 2, I got the boxes for 95¢ each! And that’s not the end of it… some of the boxes of had coupons for a FREE bag of Soft & Chewy bones when you buy 2 boxes of any Milk Bone product. Those bags of soft bones were $3.29 each, but I got 12 bags for FREE because I bought 24 boxes of Milk Bones! Did I mention I love FREE?

I also got a great deal on meat. Each pack of chicken had $3 off stickies and the pork had $2 off so I saved $8 on the meat. I got all that meat for only $6.95 (and don’t forget about that free chicken salad!).

In all, I got:

24 boxes Milk Bone dog biscuits

12 bags Soft & Chewy dog bones

5 bags Purina kitten food

2 family packs of chicken

1 pack of pork

2 boxes toaster pastries

3 individual packs salad dressing

4 bags potato chips

2 tubs Willow Tree chicken salad

I did this in two transactions. Besides my regular coupons, I also had a $5 off $25 coupon. And, I see that I ended up getting an overage on those free bags of soft bones which went toward the rest of my bill. Those dog bones were on sale, but they deducted the full price so I made 46¢ per bag! That happens sometimes, even at Shaw’s! They say no overages, but if it scans that way, they go with the flow!

Total before sale prices and coupons was $192.19 but I only paid $27.86!

And get this… I really got all this for FREE because I used my FREE Shaw’s gift cards to pay it off!

And now, I’m officially tired. Oh, that Willow Tree chicken salad is awesome! Too bad I’ll never be willing to pay for it :O)

**HURRY** Skippy Peanut Butter only 88 CENTS at Shaw’s starting today

I use affiliate links in some of my posts. I may earn a commission if you use my links. Full disclosure.

Shaw’s has Skippy peanut butter on sale for $1.50 this week (started today, runs through Thursday).  With the $1.25/2 coupon in the Fresh for Fall coupon booklet, you can get peanut butter for only 88¢ per jar!

In the Sanford Shaw’s, the Fresh for Fall booklet is in a display by the coupon table at the front of the store (on the produce side). The coupon for Skippy Peanut Butter is on page 14. It shows the Natural peanut butter, but you can use it for any 2 Skippy peanut butter products. Sit right there at the table and clip your coupons. They even have scissors for you!

There is a Skippy peanut butter display facing the front of the store. But, you will find more varieties if you go to the peanut butter section over by dairy. They have regular, roasted honey, creamy, chunky, natural, reduced fat… all on sale and all can be purchased with the coupons!

This is a deal to help build your stock pile!  I’ve been couponing for almost 5 months now, and this is the best deal I’ve found for peanut butter so far.  So, if you like peanut butter, it’s time to stock up!

How many jars should you buy? Enough for 6 months to a year. Make sure you factor in what you need for fall and winter baking, including cookies and fudge for gifts! You can even make peanut butter bones for dogs!

Right now, there is plenty of Skippy at the Sanford store.  I bought 28 jars and it didn’t even make a dent in their stock!  However, they will go quick, as will the Fresh for Fall booklets. So, don’t dilly dally… get your peanut butter NOW!

$1/1 box Kashi TLC snack crackers – print now but wait for a sale

I use affiliate links in some of my posts. I may earn a commission if you use my links. Full disclosure.

Here is a coupon for $1/1 box of Kashi TLC snack crackers.

This is a good one to print, but only if you promise to wait for a sale! $1 off any regularly priced box of Kashi is not a good enough deal.

Either wait for a sale at Shaw’s, or if you have a Kashi cracker emergency, use the coupon at Walmart where the price is lower.

FREE Egg Noodles at Shaw’s right now with coupon available in the store

I use affiliate links in some of my posts. I may earn a commission if you use my links. Full disclosure.

If you are heading out to Shaw’s, be sure you pick up some FREE egg noodles!  Here’s how…

Shaw’s has their Essential Everyday egg noodles on sale for $1 per bag (it says 10 for $10, but you don’t have to buy 10).

Look for the Fresh for Fall coupon booklets in the store (in Sanford, there is a display for the booklets as you enter the produce side of the store).

Go to page 27 in the booklet and cut out the $1 OFF coupon for any Essential Everyday product (there are scissors at the coupon table).

Pick up a bag of FREE egg noodles, or two, or three!  There is no limit on the coupon, however, sometimes it will only take $1 off the first one. So, watch the screen carefully to make sure it’s taking off each dollar.  If it doesn’t, your cashier can do it manually.

I didn’t check to see how long the egg noodles are $1. It might end on Thursday, but sometimes the $1 deals go on longer. If they are back to regular price, just look for something else that is $1 or close to it. Pasta is regularly $1.29, so you can get that for 29¢.

Coupon for $1 OFF Naked Juice – might be a good one, you never know!

I use affiliate links in some of my posts. I may earn a commission if you use my links. Full disclosure.

There is a coupon for $1 OFF Naked Juice on their facebook page! This is an easy one to get… just “like” them then print! You get 2 prints per computer.

$1 OFF any Naked Juice, 15.2 oz

Personally, I’d drink from a muddy puddle before I’d spend good money on fancy juice. And a 15.2 oz bottle of Naked Juice is $2.99 at Hannaford, most likely more at Shaw’s, maybe less at Walmart.  No matter what, a dollar off is not going to cut it for me.

However! Shaw’s often has awesome sales on juice like this, so I’m printing this baby just in case I find a good deal or if I can’t find a puddle to drink from.

Who knows, Naked Juice might just show up in the clearance section at Shaw’s for a buck, then you’d get it for FREE!  You can sometimes find marked down refrigerated juice in the reduced produce section and the reduced dairy section. Always check! I get a lot of free food from those sections.

Coupon for $.75/1 Truvia Natural Sweetener – Read on to find out why I’ve NEVER used this coupon

I use affiliate links in some of my posts. I may earn a commission if you use my links. Full disclosure.

I’ve been couponing for almost 5 months now, and one coupon that I see constantly is the 75¢ off Truvia. In the beginning, I thought… oh, I can get some cheap sweetener if this goes on sale! So far, that has never happened.

Truvia is expensive.  And even when it goes on sale, and even if I shop at Shaw’s where the coupon doubles, it’s still expensive.  Too expensive for me!  I only like stuff that is FREE or really, really CHEAP!

However, if you regularly use Truvia, then you have my permission to use this coupon :O)  But please, there is no size restriction on this coupon, so at the very least, buy the smallest size possible to maximize your savings! And take the coupon to Shaw’s where it will double to $1.50 off.

$0.75 off one package of Truvia natural sweetener

As for me? I ran out of sweetener a couple of weeks ago and I will not buy more until I get a SWEET DEAL! And I’m not fussy. I’ll take any sweetener that is free or super cheap. That’s how you save money, folks! You have to be willing to wait, AND you have to be willing to take what you can get for free or near free. That’s the extreme part of extreme couponing!
