In case you just crawled out from under a rock, I want to let you know that Shaw’s is going to be having a month long Gotta Love Great Deals sale (GLGD).
This sale, along with the bonus coupons we will have soon that go with this sale, is going to get us lots of freebies at Shaw’s… all month long! It’s also going to test our patience more than any sale you’ve ever lived through 🙂
Here’s what you need to know about the GLGD sale…
- The sale runs from 3/8 thru 3/28
- There are lots of items in this sale. You can see all the items about half way down this page.
- Each week, some of the GLGD items will be featured as part of a special 4 Day Sale, Fri-Mon, at an even lower price (with limits and a $10 minimum purchase). You can see the special 4 Day Sale items at the top of this page.
- You can use manufacture coupons on the GLGD items and the 4 Day Sale items, and stack them with Shaw’s store coupons, including the bonus coupons that we will be getting.

Just a little bit ago I posted a SavingStar deal for McCain fries at Shaw’s. Reader, Cory, was kind enough to point out to me that we still have links we can use to print coupons for the McCain Sweet Potato fries, so that deal will look like this…

Yesterday I got a coupon in my email for $.75/1 Blue Bunny Ice Cream. I have been looking for a way to get that coupon to you, but the link I got prints the coupon with my name slapped on it.
I went to the Blue Bunny site and I see they have a $.75/1 Novelty coupon, but I can’t find one for just the ice cream. I will keep looking! For now, you can at least print the coupon for the novelties. But let’s wait for a sale to use the coupon! I would actually love a deal on novelties!

Hey, reduced frozen sections have been popping up at Shaw’s again! Sanford has not had reduced frozen in a very long time, but it was there about a week ago in the back end cap of one of the frozen aisles. Maybe we’ll find some Blue Bunny there!

I know the Fleischmann’s bread mix has been flying off the shelves at Shaw’s this week, seein’ as they are only $1.00 with the coupons, an’ all. If you were hoping to score some of this bread mix only to find a bare shelf, this is what you do…
1. Decide how many boxes you want.
2. Get a rain check for that many boxes.
3. Place an order for that many boxes with your grocery manager.
4. Order your coupons if you need them.
You can get all the bread mix you want for only $1.00 each! Since these coupons need to double, you will need to do separate transactions with 4 per transaction. But, you still only need one rain check for all the boxes. If you are stocking up big time, like to donate to a food pantry, ask them to open a checkout lane just for you so no one has to wait behind you. Shaw’s will do that for you!

Shaw’s will be having special Gotta Love Great Deals sales over the next few weeks, starting on the 8th. These sales can be so confusing that they can knock even the most seasoned couponers to their knees. I worry a great deal about newbies running into trouble at the register and getting discouraged. Therefore, I will be holding your hand during these sales and will try to get you though them with as little pain as possible!
Here’s the first thing you need to know…
There will be lots of Gotta Love Great Deal items on sale starting Friday, and they will probably be on sale all month (we’ll know more on Thurs). In addition to those GLGD items, there will be special 4 Day Sale items, like you see in the flyer above.
4 Day Sale items require a $10 additional minimum purchase to get the special sale price. That means if you want to pick up the cookies for $.99, you would need to spend an additional $10 to get the cookies for that price. (yes, I know, it sucks)
The good news is that you only need ONE $10 additional purchase to take advantage of all the 4 Day Sale items. That means if you spend $10 during your shopping trip, you could also buy all the items mentioned in the ad and get them at the sale price. You don’t need to spend $10 to get the cookies, $10 to get the Ragu, etc.
I personally had an issue at my Shaw’s last time we had this sale and was told buy 2 different cashiers that we needed to spend $10 per item to get the sale price. That’s just not true! So, I asked Dan on Shaw’s facebook page and I want you to print out his answer. You can click on the image to see the entire thread. I would print the entire thread and keep take it with you when you shop next week.
Later I will get info on the Bonus Coupons. If you think the 4 Day Sales sound confusing, you are going to hate the bonus coupons! LOL But, you need to stick with it because we will be getting lots of freebies this month. I will help you and it will make more sense once you give it a try. I promise!

I’m looking around to see if I can find more deals for our Shaw’s sale that starts Friday. We have a coupon for the Swanson broth! Granted, this is not the best price we’ve gotten on the big cartons of broth, so if you already have tons in your stockpile, you might want to wait.
If you do not have broth in your stockpile, you might want to pick up a few cartons. Then you will have the luxury of sitting back and waiting for a better deal to come along. That way you never pay full price! You save a little now so you can save a lot later!
Here’s the deal at Shaw’s 3/8 – 3/14:
Buy (3) Swanson Broth, 32 oz carton, on sale for $2.00 each
Use (1) $1/3 Swanson Broth printable coupon
Final price is $5.00 for 3 so only $1.67 each!
These should be on Rollback at Walmart for $1.98, so $1.65 each there
