INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup (1 stick), cut into tablespoons (NOT margarine)
1 cup packed l
1/4 cup
1 teaspoon
12 cups plain popped
2 cups mini
1 cup

DIRECTIONS:
1: Spray 6-quart with cooking spray.
2: Layer butter, brown sugar and corn syrup in bottom of slow cooker (do not stir). Cover and cook on High heat setting 30 minutes.
3: Carefully remove slow cooker’s ceramic insert, leaving cover on, and rotate 180 degrees. Continue to cook on High heat setting another 30 minutes or until caramel mixture is bubbling vigorously around edges.
4: Remove cover and turn heat setting to Low. Stir in baking soda until well blended. The mixture will foam while being stirred.
5: Add popcorn and stir well to coat popcorn, making sure to reach bottom and all around inside of slow cooker. Continue to cook, uncovered, on Low heat setting 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes, stirring every 15 to 20 minutes, until popcorn looks dry and caramel is cooked on.
6: Spread on waxed paper. Cool 15 minutes. Stir in pretzel twists and nuts. Store at room temperature in airtight container.

Darlene’s Tips: Make this caramel corn with different nuts, M&M’s , dried fruit, crackers, chedder fish, even potato chips… whatever ingredients you want! You could also use a bag of pre-popped butter flavored popcorn if you don’t want to pop your own.

INGREDIENTS:
7 cups peeled , sliced (3 to 4 large or 6 to 7 small)
1/2 package (12 cookies)
3/4 cup packed
1 teaspoon (or ) plus a bit more for topping

DIRECTIONS:
1: Heat oven to 375°F. Spray 9 1/2-inch with cooking spray.
2: In large bowl, gently toss apple slices with the brown sugar and cinnamon (or apple pie spice) until slices are coated. Pour evenly into pie plate.
3: Arrange 12 cookies on top of apple mixture. Lightly sprinkle a bit of the cinnamon (or apple pie spice) on top of cookies.
4: Bake 50 to 55 minutes or until topping is golden brown. Cool slightly before serving.

Darlene’s Tips: You can add some to the apple mix for a nutty twist. Serve warm with ice cream for an awesome dessert. A drizzle of over the top would be good too.

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups shredded
1 can (12 oz) (NOT sweetened condensed)
1 can (11 oz)
1 bag (12 oz) vegetables

DIRECTIONS:
1: In large pot, heat the evaporated milk, 4 1/2 cups hot water and the chicken to boiling over high heat.
2: Separate the breadsticks and cut into 1-inch pieces with . Drop them into the boiling mixture. Reduce heat and simmer 12 to 14 minutes, stirring frequently, until dumplings are cooked through.
3: Boil the mixed vegetables and drain.
4: Remove the chicken and dumplings from heat. Stir in vegetables and serve!

Darlene’s Tips: Want it cheesy? You can add 1 to 2 cups of your favorite shredded cheese along with the veggies. Simply cover and let stand for a few minutes to let the cheese melt. You can use leftover turkey for this recipe. You can use milk (any percent) if you don’t have evaporated. It just won’t be as rich in flavor. Whole milk would work the best. If you can’t find the breadsticks dough, pieces of should turn out just as good. Maybe better!
