INGREDIENTS:

1 box Brownie Snack Cakes () or bake your own
1 to 1/2 cups baking chips, flavor of your choice
optional: different color baking chips for decorating tops
optional: sprinkles of your choice
(see my tips below)

See my Darlene’s Concoctions videos!

DIRECTIONS:

1:  Line a pan with waxed paper.  Crumble brownies into large bowl then shape into balls and place in pan.  If they do not stick well enough to shape into balls, add a few drops of water at a time then try again.

2:  In medium microwavable bowl, microwave baking chips uncovered on High for 30 seconds then stir. If needed, heat at additional 10-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until melted.

3:  Using 2 forks, dip and roll each brownie ball in melted chips to cover brownie ball completely. Tap gently to remove excess then return to pan. Optional: immediately top with sprinkles.

4:  Repeat for remaining melted chips and brownie balls. Optional: melt different color baking chips and drizzle over tops of balls.  Allow to set at room temperature, about 20 minutes. Store in covered container in refrigerator.

Darlene’s Tips: You can do this with any gooey baked goods!  Instead of a few drops of water to make them stick, you can use some chocolate syrup.  If you happen to add too much liquid and they are too wet, add some powdered sugar to dry the dough up a bit.  These make awesome food gifts for the holidays!

Homemade Microwave Caramels Recipe – 4 Ingredient Holiday Candy Gift

I use affiliate links in some of my posts. I may earn a commission if you use my links. Full disclosure.

Please remember that I don’t eat this stuff so I did not test this recipe. I’m just posting so you can try it!

Check Out My eBay Store!

INGREDIENTS:
check for ingredient coupons here
1/2 cup salted butter (not margarine)
1/2 cup corn syrup ()
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk ()
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
optional: coarse salt
(see my tips below)

See my Darlene’s Concoctions videos!

DIRECTIONS:

1:  Melt butter completely in a medium microwave-safe bowl, about 20-30 seconds, stirring every 10 seconds to check it.

2:  Add corn syrup, sweetened condensed milk and brown sugar and mix until combined. Microwave uncovered for 5 to 7 minutes.

3:  Place a bit of the caramel into a bowl of ice water. If a small bead forms, the caramel is ready. If a bead doesn’t form, microwave for 30 more seconds and test again. Continue microwaving an additional 15 seconds and testing again until a small bead forms.

4:  Grease the bottom and sides of an 8×8-inch dish with butter. Pour caramel in the pan (sprinkle top with coarse salt if desired)

5:  Refrigerate for at least 20 minutes to set.  Cut into any size pieces of your choice and wrap in parchment or wax paper.

Darlene’s Tips: Put these wrapped caramels in a decorative tin to make an awesome holiday gift! Or bag some in decorative bags to hand out to your holiday guests. You can usually pick up decorative bags at most dollar stores. If not, pick up plain clear bags in the candy making section at walmart and tie with holiday ribbon and a gift tag. Want to try something extra special? Dip the caramels in melted chocolate morsels!  I bet that would work!

Cookie Fudge Recipe – Easy 3 Ingredient Store Bought Cookie Hack

I use affiliate links in some of my posts. I may earn a commission if you use my links. Full disclosure.

Please remember that I don’t eat this stuff so I did not test this recipe. I’m just posting so you can try it!

INGREDIENTS:

8 t0 10 cookies of your choice (not sandwich style)
1 container frosting, flavor of your choice
2 cups baking morsels, flavor of your choice
optional: about 2 tablespoons sprinkles of your choice
(see my tips below)

Join my Peanut Gallery Facebook Group to get FREE ACCESS to Fabric Frenzy 20 on Nov 10th! You don’t want to miss that sale!

See my Darlene’s Concoctions videos!

DIRECTIONS:

1:  Pulse cookies in food processor (or crush in bag with rolling pin) until crumbs form.

2:  Transfer cookie crumbs to small bowl and mix with 1/4 cup of the frosting (also add sprinkles if desired).

3:  Use 1/4-teaspoon measure to shape little balls of cookie mixture.

4:  Line 8-inch square pan with foil, leaving foil overhanging at 2 opposite sides of pan. Spray foil with cooking spray.

5:  In medium microwavable bowl, microwave baking chips uncovered on High 1 minute. Spoon remaining container of frosting over chips. Microwave uncovered on High 30 seconds then stir. If necessary, continue to microwave in 15-second increments until mixture can be stirred smooth.

6:  Pour fudge mixture into pan. Space cookie balls evenly on top, and press into fudge mixture. Spread fudge mixture evenly in pan to cover balls.  Top with more sprinkles if desired.

7:  Refrigerate uncovered until set, about 1 hour.  Remove from pan by lifting foil then peel foil away. Cut into deisred size pieces. Store covered in refrigerator.

Darlene’s Tips: You could also add some chopped nuts either to the cookie mix or to the frosting mix. For a more firm fudge, use less frosting and more morsels. You can go all morsels if you rather have it more like candy and not so much like fudge. Experiment!

Nutmeg Squares Recipe – Easy Cookie Dough Hack

I use affiliate links in some of my posts. I may earn a commission if you use my links. Full disclosure.

Please remember that I don’t eat this stuff so I did not test this recipe. I’m just posting so you can try it!

Check Out My eBay Store!

INGREDIENTS:
check for ingredient coupons here
1 roll (16.5 oz) Pillsbury refrigerated sugar cookies
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cup baking morsels, flavor or color of your choice
chopped nuts or candy sprinkes of your choice
(see my tips below)

Join my Peanut Gallery Facebook Group to get FREE ACCESS to Fabric Frenzy 20 on Nov 10th! You don’t want to miss that sale!

See my Darlene’s Concoctions videos!

DIRECTIONS:

1: Heat oven to 350°F. Line a 13×9-inch pan with foil, extending foil over edges.

2: Crumble cookie dough in medium bowl. Stir or knead in nutmeg until well mixed. Press evenly in bottom of foil-lined pan.

3: Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool completely, about 1 hour.

4: Use foil to lift from pan. Trim crust edges from bar then cut into bars.

5: In small microwavable bowl, microwave baking morsels uncovered on High 1 minute, stirring every 30 seconds, until melted and smooth.

4:  Dip 2 opposite corners of each square into melted chips, letting excess drip off. Place on cookie sheet and sprinkle corners with chopped nuts. Refrigerate about 10 minutes or until set. Store covered in refrigerator.

Darlene’s Tips: Use for flecks of color! You can do this without the nutmeg if you prefer, or you could use any spice you like (extract would work too). This can also be done with any flavor of cookie dough (chocolate chip cookie dipped in melted peanut butter morsels sounds awesome!). Instead of the nuts or sprinkles, you could crumble up the leftover cookie crust and sprinkle that on the squares (or just eat the crusts… yum!!!). Want colorful cookies? Add a few drops of food coloring and knead that into the dough. You could even separate the dough to make several different colors in one batch. Have fun experimenting! Want an even easier treat? Use store bought cookies and dip those suckers into melted morsels! Quick and easy yet looks special!!!

2 Ingredient Peppermint Bark Recipe – Easy Holiday Candy Gift

I use affiliate links in some of my posts. I may earn a commission if you use my links. Full disclosure.

Please remember that I don’t eat this stuff so I did not test this recipe. I’m just posting so you can try it!

Check Out My eBay Store!

INGREDIENTS:
check for ingredient coupons here
1 package (16 ounces) almond bark, broken into pieces, or any white morsels
24 hard peppermint candies
(see my tips below)

Join my Peanut Gallery Facebook Group to get FREE ACCESS to Fabric Frenzy 20 on Nov 10th! You don’t want to miss that sale!

See my Darlene’s Concoctions videos!

DIRECTIONS:

1: Cover cookie sheet with waxed paper. Place candy coating in 8-cup microwavable measure or 2-quart microwavable casserole. Microwave uncovered on High 2 to 3 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds, until almost melted. Stir until smooth.

2: Place peppermint candies in heavy plastic bag and crush with rolling pin or bottom of small heavy saucepan. Pour crushed candies into wire strainer. Shake strainer over melted coating until all of the tiniest candy pieces fall into the coating. Reserve the larger candy pieces. Stir coating to mix evenly.

3: Spread coating evenly on cookie sheet. Sprinkle evenly with remaining candy pieces. Let stand about 1 hour or until cool and hardened. Break into pieces.

Darlene’s Tips: Use for extra flecks of color! You can add a drop of peppermint extract if you want extra peppermint flavor.  You can make chocolate peppermint bark the same way using chocolate morsels.  Don’t get caught up in exact measurements! You are basically melting your morsels or bark and mixing it with candy. Make as much or as little as you want! You can experiment with other hard candies too. I think cinnamon would be awesome!
