It’s a beautiful gray day for me in Sanford, Maine! Not sure if it rained. Love rain too, so that’s fine by me if it did or if it does.
This is day 3 for me with youtube comments turned off. I wake up so relieved!!! Still loving it. I have some suggesting that I get someone to handle comments for me so they can sort through the hate and I never have to see it. Ummmmm…. the hate is funny to me. It’s the every day “social” chit chat that I don’t like. It’s replying to sweet comments that make me anxious. If someone calls me an old fat asshole, I can quickly, easily and happily reply back using a few choice words of my own. But when someone tells me they love me? A complete stranger? Or when someone offers helpful advice or suggestions (like suggesting I get help with comments lol)? I can’t stand that! It pretty much all bothers me. So what am I to do, hire someone to just delete every comment? Much easier for me to just not allow any comments! The only thing… will it hurt my channel. I’m keeping an eye on that. We will know at some point.
I really think I would thrive with no human contact of any kind. Not possible unless I get stranded somewhere. So I do the best that I can and try to keep my world as safe a place for me as possible. I don’t give a shit if it’s not what others want for me. So done trying to please others.
Yesterday, even though I have many who love to hate my quilting videos (quilting videos get the most thumbs down) I went ahead and uploaded another Wonky Mosaic Quilt Block (oh, and someone found a way to tell me they are sick of my saying wonky… so um… fuck you). I really enjoy making quilt blocks so those videos will be sticking around for a long time, quite sure. Especially wonky ones ’cause I love wonky.
What I Have on eBay: Nothing new (I still have Halloween and Reindeer). And I’m no longer listing on ebay on any kind of schedule. Just list when I’m in the mood for it. If you never sold on ebay before, it is way more time-consuming than you can imagine!

Youtube Analytics Mini Update: Yotube has updated through Sept 17. So far, no spikes happening (I don’t expect any with comments turned off) but knock on wood, my earnings are not horrible for the 16th or 17th, my first two days of no comments. Down a bit, but not horrible. $39 and $40 per day. Holding my breath. I would not mind holding steady for a bit, but I really would need to see earnings growing, not holding steady. Will try to just hold out until the end of the month as a test.

Happy Monday everyone!
Before I get into my regular chit chat, let me tell you what I uploaded yesterday. First I had a quick Tag Along, then I uploaded my Youtube Earnings Update for the first two weeks of September, then I ended by day with an Easy Quilt Block that I ended up loving!
This week is the beginning of a new schedule for me. I love working from a schedule, but I like my schedules to be flexible, meaning I love knowing what I have planned for the week, but I don’t like things to be devoted to certain days because I never know how I will feel on that day.
Just the same, I had started Manic Monday for listing penny auctions on ebay and Fabric Friday for listing various lots of fabric on ebay. But I find that more often than not I wish so much I didn’t have that pressure. I tried planning in advance, but I was not motivated to do that either. That’s enough proof to let me know those “specialty” days are just not my thing. I will still sell fabric and list penny auctions, but only when I’m in the mood to do so.
Now let’s talk about the freedom I’m feeling by having youtube comments turned off. SO FUCKING FREE! I am in my glory!!! I just hope I can leave them turned off, but my guess is I will have to turn them back on because I am quite sure it will hurt my youtube ranking since my engagement factor will be zero. For now, I’m enjoying the freedom. Maybe I can go on an alternating basis of turning them off and on so I can always get a nice break from those stupid comments.
I get asked, but what about all the good and supportive comments you no longer see!!! Yes, I had lots of awesome comments. I also have lots of stupid comments. I also had lots of hate comments. I need none of those, not even the good and supportive ones. I have never felt the need to get high fives or to hear constant encouraging words. For one, I was not raised with this kind of support and acceptance so I guess I got use to knowing that what I did mattered to no one. I learned to just try my hardest to please myself. I also learned that kind words can turn bad quickly the minute you disappoint. I learned that as a child and also throughout my adult life. People love you as long as you are pleasing them. I learned this lesson the hard way with various businesses I ran, including my coupon blog. The minute I announced that I was quitting that gig after almost 5 years of being devoted to it, I got tons of messages and comments about how selfish I was to walk away from that. How could I possibly be so different now. And when people realized I was earning money all along, some (many, actually) were disgusted that they ever said they liked me. Had they known I was “greedy” they would have never followed me. They would have stuck with the other bloggers. Guess what, all coupon bloggers earn money. Do you think we can spend 60 hours per week on coupon deals and still pay the bills if we don’t get paid? I hate fucking people.
So no, I don’t need praise for what I do. I am the only one who has to like what I do.
I could go on and on and on… you know, therapy session. But I have shit to do! Shit that I love. Shit that does not need to make anyone happy but me.

I guess the biggest news from me today is that I once again turned youtube comments off. Turned them off on all my current videos and will leave them off my future videos… at least for now. I did this before but turned them on after a few days. This time I’d like to last at least 2 weeks to see if it has any affect on my earnings. I know engagement is important to youtube so they might not promote my videos if I have comments off.
If I see my channel is hurting by having comments off, the next thing I will try is turning them back on but leaving all my comments in review and just letting them sit there. That way they still count as engagement but I never have to look at them. And they are hidden from the public. The person who left the comment will be able to see it but only if they are logged into the account they used to leave the comment.
And if you are wondering why I turned comments off is because I am totally anti-social. That’s not news to those who have followed me for a while. I have no interest in any form of chit chat. I never know what to say in reply to the nice comments so most of time I don’t reply then I feel like I’m not doing a good job with comments. I mean what do you say when a complete stranger says they love you? I love you too? I don’t love that person. I don’t even know that person. lol And let’s not even talk about those who preach to me or give unwarranted advice or make suggestions on how I could do this or that a better way. Fuck those comments.
I covered most of this in this Car Vlog video. Beware. I know I pissed off many just by being myself.
